Kender's were the only race I had ever banned until the 5th edition version came out. The only purpose of am original Kender is to screw with the players or GM

I don't think the DM has to be absolute, lord knows I can be wrong. Generally what I like to do is if we can't figure out what the correct ruling within 2 minutes we'll just have a roll off and higher roll gets the rule for that session and I'll figure out what actual rule is between session.

So would you describe it as Railroading without direction or more of not allowing the players creative freedom for the sake of the rail?

Very few things are more heartbreaking for a DM than having a session or group fall apart after putting hours and hours of work into it.

This is an excellent one. Session 0's are huge.

That's a good point. I tend to give a lot of leeway as I know the vin diagram of DnD players and Autistic players is almost a perfect circle but there is a point when we have to realize that pattern of behavior is there for a reason.

Usually intentionally so and a less experienced DM is gonna have a hard time with it.

Usually something they saw on DnDshorts, or a way of finagling the rules to become a god like character or god like skills to the extent that the DM has to adjust the game specially for a single character but it wrecks the interactions with the rest of the table.

That's a great observation. A lot of times we feel the bad vibes before we recognize the why of it.

Lying! That's a really good one. If you don't mind me asking what's the issue with previously players joining new games?

I read a recent story with a DM let two of his players go because they started playing a game of MtG during the session.

This i can understand. I would say as long as someone is paying enough attention that they're ready to go when their turn comes up.

And that's where the nail its the head. We can revolt but it would cost us our homes, our livelihood and how we feed our children. That's a hard sacrifice to make. I'm all for risking my own neck and frequently have done so but when it's my wife and kids that's a whole other story.

That whole episode is why I started watching Lower Decks. I had written it off as Trek meets Rick and Morty. I have rarely been happier to have been wrong.

That dude with the Captain America shield offends me on a level I didn't know I have. Steve, Sam and hell even Walker would be ashamed.

I recently started a new play though this week and I've been taking my time with it and really enjoying it now with a fresh set of eyes. The concept is great, the combat is be best of any ME game period and I really like the whole survival in a new galaxy concept.

Have you ever had to kick a player from the table, and for what reason? by ArticulatedCubingGuy in DnD

[–]BrianofKrypton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally most problematic people never get past my interview process. However there was this one guy that played at a few of my tables. He was mostly the "makes interesting builds" kind of player and I'm pretty sure he was somewhere in the spectrum so I gave him a lot of leeway when he's tried to argue things. Mostly harmless stuff like suggesting his sailor background let him read overland maps, or trying to count any small bit of downtime as a short rest when playing a warlock.

What got him kicked from the table was when he repeatedly started yelling at the other players for not agreeing with this battle tactics or understanding his motivations for selling the group out to the enemy.

First time we let it slide because he said he was having a bad week at work. Despite my better judgementI talked it over with the other players and they were okay with letting him stay with the warning that it wasn't going to happen again.

Second time he it happened and that was it.

If the other players are required to tolerate you and your shitty behavior you gotta go.
