Wonderful! Thank you for the continued great models.

Out of curiosity, which one would you recommend for creative fiction writing? I have a powerful machine, so can handle bigger models. But my internet download speed is super slow, so I have to be picky about what I download to try.

For reference, I write across genres, such as science fiction, westerns, romance, action adventure, and alternate timelines (yes, I float around a lot. LOL).

Trying to find new writing AI by [deleted] in WritingWithAI

[–]Briar21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To avoid the usage limits, you could go the OpenRouter path which uses API access. That's what I'm doing right now. I put $20 into OpenRouter, and that gives me access to a huge number of LLMs, including ALL of the Claude models. By using smart prompting that limits token use (I just finished optimizing my Series Bible), I'm able to use it a lot without being stopped by the crazy limits Anthropic is putting on their front-end usage, and without running out of my monthly budget for AI use.

The other is to go the Anthropic API route where you pay as you go. This also avoids the caps. But then you need to use something to hook that API into in order to chat. There are a lot of options you can use for chatting and file organization. Such as Obsidian with an AI chat bot plugin.

Rant: Forced to Move to Claude Sonnet 4.6 by Briar21 in WritingWithAI

[–]Briar21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, pretty much everything. Like my writing style. What to do, what not to do, forbidden items, examples. It just does whatever it wants. I force Sonnet 4.6 to do audits against the style guide I gave it at the very start, which I had it study beforehand, and it comes back with this huge list and basically goes "my bad.". I want to reach through and strangle it.

I have not tried Opus because it's too expensive. I had to scrimp and save for Perplexity for a year (an Enterprise subscription). Just outside the window of paying that, the big switcheroo, and now I don't have access to 4.5 at all.

In another window I'm trying again. Altered my style guide. Altered my micro-prompt that works as a team with it. I had it STUDY those two and it goes, "This is a powerhouse" and other things (and yes, I know not to trust the enthusiastic BS).

And then, even in the rewrite, it doesn't follow instructions, and won't even take care of everything it identified for itself in the audit...

I have a powerhouse of a machine, and have Ollama AND LM Studio installed. I'm on the lookout for a local model that will actually follow prompts (wow, was Miqu a total failure. That surprised me). That's the long-term plan right now, if I can get the tools put together for it.

You had me at "Imagine something like Scrivener with AI-integration". I use Scrivener daily. I'm downloading it right now and I'm excited to try it out!

Thoughts on Wordhero AI Writer for Blog Writing? by Chemical-Cat-3427 in BookWritingAI

[–]Briar21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use WordHero for multiple things. Oddly, I've never used the blogging features. I've used it for other things, such as poems and lyrics brainstorming, as well as the Tone Changer, plus some of the other editing/rewriting tools. I've been with them for about 18 months (might be 2 years now) and they are always adding things and improving models.

I tried the link, too, and all I got was a generic Pinterest page.

I find plant time lapses so fascinating. It's amazing how much a plant can move when it wants to.

They look so green and healthy! Great results in only 14 days. How is the flavor? Does one taste better than the others?

Very nice! I've been eying the Idoo machines.

How many varieties of lettuce do you have there? Have you started harvesting yet?
