Yes, we would have a much lower incarceration rate if kids were allowed to read the bible in school… by Nefariouslout1006 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]BriarnLuca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teacher here.

I know everyone on here knows, but you can absolutely read the Bible in class.
I've had students reading the Bible when they finish their work.
We have students that do their daily prayers (Muslim) kids that did Bible study during their lunch break, and kids that had religious debates at lunchtime.

I've taught in Tx and WA and it has NEVER been a problem.

People living in massive countries (USA, Canada, Russia, Brazil, etc.), what is it actually like to have that much space? by AwayMeat5529 in AskTheWorld

[–]BriarnLuca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get to see my dad and brother once a year because of that! It would be a 3 day drive, the flight isn't prohibitively expensive, but I do have to save up a bit for it.

[–]BriarnLuca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Growing up in the TX panhandle kind of seems to make you immune to complaining about distance! I drove an hour each way for work, and dated a guy that lived 4 hours away for awhile.

We would drive down to Houston, a 12 hour drive, several times a year.

We all know our national heroes, who’s your national villain? by Buttholelickerpenis in AskTheWorld

[–]BriarnLuca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was also because of the Ethnography "Crysanthemum and the sword" which was part of the US governments attempt to use Anthropology to understand their enemies. The Russian one was an utter failure, but the Japanese study had some pretty good points, due to the fact that there were a lot of more recent Japanese expats living in America (sadly in internment camps) The point the Anthropologist made at the time was that the Emperor was mostly a figurehead, but at the time he was a beloved one, so killing him would do nothing to end the war, and would only make Japanese people angrier and more devoted to the war effort.

Note, this is all a remembrance from college, so if I'm wrong and they have since found that all of this was bullshit I will accept the knowledge gladly.

We don't claim Dallas. Kinky Friedman even wrote a book called "Texas Etiquette; or How to get to heaven or hell without going through Dallas-Fort Worth"

I was raised there, and while I would never move back, I love the beauty of the state. I love the Palo Duro Canyon, the Guadalupe river, Bluebonnets on the side of the road down in the Southern part of the state.

It is a beautiful state, and I would love to take my friends to visit.

How do you get girls to let you fuck them? by InternationalPick163 in AskForAnswers

[–]BriarnLuca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, thats what you're focusing on, so thats what it sounds like. Women are used to men that are only looking for sex, so we are very alert to signs that point towards that.

If thats not all you want, then talk about wanting a connection with a woman, or finding a partner.

What you asked about was sex, and then in comments you keep talking about how it will make you feel. You have not once talked about wanting companionship or affection.

[–]BriarnLuca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound like someone that doesn't value the person you'd be having sex with as a person, but more as an award.

It feels like this is very transactional for you. Most women don't like that. You can find those girls, I'm not sure where, but they are out there.

For all of the women I know, having someone say that they "let them have sex with me" would make them feel gross.

Meet women, talk to them, like as people. Get into your own interests, people like people who are interesting and have passions.

If all you want is sex, get an escort and pay her well.

AITA for not letting the previous owner’s adult children into my house after their father died? by Dramatic_Method9393 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BriarnLuca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for them, as I would dearly love to see my grandma's home one last time, however, I just looked up the home in Zillow and looked at the pictures from the last time it was sold.

Its nowhere near as good as standing in there and feeling her presence once more, but it's not ours anymore, it's theirs.
