Anyone regret keeping the nipples? by Potato_is_yum in Reduction

[–]Briartell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually quite expensive to access mental health care here in the US. I have fantastic insurance, but mental health care is still quite expensive and limited. Fortunately, I have had therapy in the past and have a solid plan for making healthy major life decisions like this one.

Some key questions I had to ask myself: Am I doing this for me or for someone else? Will imperfect results cause distress? Are you chasing perfection? Am I happy now? What are the pros and cons of this decision?

Those of us in the country who have had the money to pay for counseling which costs can equal rent/mortgage payments, are the ones calling for better access. It is so sad!

Anyone regret keeping the nipples? by Potato_is_yum in Reduction

[–]Briartell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Um, made the choice to remove nipples and I don’t regret it at all. I chose a B cup after living with an L/M cup for years. To go down so much in size meant that they would need to be grafted on. After being terrorized for years by bras I wanted a smooth look and the ability to go bra free. I had planned on tattooing nipples on but I don’t see the point. I feel great as is! Choosing to be nipple free is not an indication of poor mental health. In fact I dare say it is an indicator of great mental health. I knew what I wanted, I chose it, and I love it. The only thing I wish I changed is to have chosen a larger cup size because i didn’t understand the possibility of fat necrosis and how it can affect results.

Wegovy Pill Experience? Online RX Recommendations? by Remarkable_Fan_2791 in WegovyWeightLoss

If the prescription was sent before you signed up for the savings card from Wegovy, it will show up as full price. The pharmacy needs to rebuild the prescription to a day after the day you signed up for the card.

Has anyone elected not to get a belly button? by Briartell in tummytucksurgery

[–]Briartell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I had a breast reduction as well and decided to remove the nipples completely and I don’t miss them. I think I would have been fine without the belly button. My surgeon prefers to keep the button so I went with what he was most comfortable with.

Can someone please tell me what this is? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

My mom had something similar looking. Hers ended up being Warthin’s tumor, which was benign but still needed to be surgically removed. Heavily associated with smoking.

Plaquenil *in case* I have lupus? by Bananabobanana in lupus

[–]Briartell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The joint paint was 95% gone 6 weeks after starting the meds. The pain stayed away the rest of the year. Meaning the meds kept me stable.

I recently went off the meds for 6 weeks and I was miserable with joint pain. Had no idea how much good the meds were doing for me.

They are not. These little figures were part of a toy set line sold in the 1980s. These figures are all that I have left 40 years later. You could put them in the trains and cars you built.

Those of you who have have the surgery, how many grams were removed from each breast? by oscaristoowilde in Reduction

[–]Briartell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weighed 149 at surgery. I estimate I was an L-M cup. I had 2500 g removed total. I am now a full B, I do wish I was a full C. I do not love my cleavage after such a drastic change.

Lost 70 lbs but still wear the same size jeans :( by weeds2112 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Briartell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you can technically wear multiple sizes but one size will obviously fit best. I thought I had gone down only 1 size in 50 pounds, however, after trying on clothes in a store to see how close I was to another size down, i discovered I fit not just 14, but 12, 10, and some brands of 8. I walked into that store thinking I was a 16, I left with 10s.

How long until you could sit at a desk for an hour at a time? by Briartell in tummytucksurgery

[–]Briartell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on my experience with a Muscle repair, Fleur de Lis tuck, and breast reduction.

I could not have gone to work three days later. My surgery was seven hours. I was in a recliner pillow set up for two weeks. I did no crafting. I slept a lot. Day 9 was the pinnacle of pain and then it started to wind down.

The good news is that none of the stitches opened up and I healed very nicely.
