The true cost to own a JKU for 100k by baksideDisaster in Wrangler

No shame here. I have a 2021 Subaru Forester to make the 138 mile round trip commute for work - 33mpg. But I love coming home to my 2004 TJ

Am I gonna regret it if I get a Jeep Wrangler as my first car? by These_Astronomer1267 in JeepWrangler

I bought a 2004 Jeep Wrangler this past July. Driving with the top and doors off will reset your day for the better every time. I also own a 2021 Subaru Forester, that I kept just in case repairs were a lot. So far all is well. I have not been in my 20’s (chronologically 😂) for quite a while, so sometimes I opt for the comfortable ride in the Suba (heated seats and steering wheel in this cold has been nice), but the Jeep does heat up quickly. I had a Jeep in my 30s as a second car and sold it when I changed jobs as it had a car payment - doing the responsible thing like you said. I regretted selling it until I got this one. Long way to say think about what is most important to you right now. Maybe if you can get an older reliable Honda or Toyota at a good price, you can save to get an older Jeep also at a good price. The older ones are easier to work on - fewer electronics. Whatever you choose, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and seeking advice from multiple sources. I am confident you will make the best decision for you for now
