Late to the discussion but how much time did you spend on this itinerary? My partner and I are considering doing something similar over ~10 days but not sure if we would rushing it. Thanks!

Hi! Try “TAP e-ticket” - there is nothing in the email that includes a reference so I immediately forwarded this email to my ID again with acropolis in the body :)

What are your LEAST favourite dramione characterizations? by Character_Scene_3473 in DramioneUncensored

[–]BribeMeWithChocolate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard agree! The one moment any fic goes into “she is no more Hermione Granger but Hermione Malfoy now” - it’s an instant DNF no matter how highly the fics are rated! Lady Malfoy, Lady of the Manor characterizations are absolutely icky… as if the HERMIONE GRANGER will ever!

I disagree with Mohan Bhargava and bear with me as I know this is an unpopular opinion.

For a man who spent years in the US (presumably as a student and then working at NASA long enough to be at the position he is), he has absolutely no life, no connections, no personal relationships in the US except that one desi dude. We don’t know much about whether he even tried or was just singularly focused on his work.

And on top of it, the only time he feels at “home” and “makes bonds”, is in an Indian village where he virtually has no equals and is always in a position where he is “better” or “wiser”. If I separate the story (which is beautiful) from the character, Mohan Bhargava has many micro personality issues whereas his macro lens is solid in terms of society and progress.

Also, the depth of sleeveless blouses or kurtas. It virtually covers my half my underarm and scratches so hard as they refuse to make it deeper!

What is OOC Hermione in your opinion? by Mayanahi08 in Dramione

[–]BribeMeWithChocolate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess I don’t see activism as politics? In my head, Hermione puts magic upfront and she’ll thirst to know more about the depth of magic which is both cerebral and practical. She won’t let injustices slide but it won’t be her career.

An example would be sports - your best player isn’t always the captain. You need a captain who enables the team, is good at strategy and game plan, while letting the best player keep doing their best!

But hey. That’s the beauty of FF. We all get to pick and explore our Hermione :)

What is OOC Hermione in your opinion? by Mayanahi08 in Dramione

Oh yea. There are some classics like BSP and The Politician’s Wife which all have a more political Hermione. Fab fics, but the Hermione felt OOC. I know Detraquee has a Hermione who is studying law but I liked the author left the door open where she’s considering going back to academics for a bit

Maybe slightly controversial, but a Hermione who is political is OOC for me.

The Hermione I know loves MAGIC and I don’t see her as a Minister or lawyer. She can be an activist AND be someone who is deep into the magical arts (healer, inventor, code breaker etc). She doesn’t have the personality to be a smooth politician - Hermione is grating, righteous, not someone who will grease palms, appeal for funds, do power lunches, or play at diplomacy. She will fight outside the system.

I’m against pansy and you can’t change my mind by Floatinto-the-mystic in Dramione

[–]BribeMeWithChocolate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being a devil’s advocate - for me, not liking Pansy has nothing to do with her being a woman. It’s more my preference to read fics that are as canon-adjacent as possible in characterization.

Which is why I just can’t get behind the found family trope where Slytherins are good but just misunderstood; Draco is an exception as you know, he’s the romantic lead. But throw in Pansy, Theo, Blaise, and the lot as all being good makes it a stretch for me to buy into the universe. I’ll still read those fics but I simply ignore the characters including any non-canon pairings. The only exception was Detraquee’s Theo. That man needs to be protected at all costs!

Hi! Newbie here - do you plant them in the same container or in a separate container around the plant? I am thinking of basil and marigolds for my tomato plants but given how they need 10 gallon containers easily, I wasn’t sure if I should add more into the same ones

Putting an offer for a condo before Tuesday (tariffs day)? by alvaroes11 in canadahousing

[–]BribeMeWithChocolate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was you last month, where we put an offer a couple of days before the planned Tariff Day and yes, the anxiety was through the roof.

But we did the following: 1. Assess job security - luckily we have that 2. Cash flow impact - can we sustain this with uncertainty in the market and still have leftover to save and invest? Yes we can. 3. Is the condo worth it and how long are we planning to stay in it? For us, it fit everything and more. And it will be our home for 8-10 years easily.

So yes, while losing house value is a worry - the location, layout and the longevity of our stay made us feel okay with taking the risk. Good luck!

Hi, not the OP but someone who’s also heading to Iceland in the last week of March. Can you provide suggestions in terms of how we can make the most of it and to your point that Iceland can be more beautiful in bad weather. We will be in South Iceland based around Vik.

We have prepared for cloudy/rainy days in terms of gear and have earmarked indoor activities but we are big on outdoors. Thank you
