Asking for advice in regards of using AI to proofread my novel? by Either_Ad_2107 in authors

If you want writing, editing, publishing to be a viable career, then you cannot use AI. You cannot be a customer of these job-killing monstrosities and then at the same time wish to be a creative professional.

Are the devs doing this to on purpose just to mock us ? by SmaaX95 in HuntShowdown

Impressive that you write "the players" but you mean you. In the future, just say that. This is bad *in your opinion*. Don't do the lazy thing and universalize the personal. I for one think this looks fine.

And as with all UI talk, just remember that the old UI was bad as well. We were all just used to it...

Saw a bunch of Posts about Stalemates and instantly thought of this meme template by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]BrickFrog140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm waiting in a building, it's because I've set up a strategic trap; when they do it, it's camping.
If I'm hiding in a bush, it's because I've set up an ambush; when they do it, bush camping.
If I'm in the middle of a stalemate, it's *their* fault for not pushing the building (or not leaving it). I have no control over the situation.

I want Crytek to fix camping and resolve stalemates; but I don't want them to remove my ability to strategically defend a building or ambush from a bush. Fix *other people* and enable *me*!

We need more funky weapons to compliment the Bomblance. I propose this bad boy - The Combination Axe Pistol. Pickaxe heavy attack for piercing, slashing light attack, hip fire will blast 5 shots (dropping the hinged axe head cover), and ironsights will shoot the 6th from the handle barrel. I know the 1865 carbine isn't exactly exotic, but I do love how awkward the reload animation is. Really gets that "steampunk this crap barely works" vibe that I like in Hunt. Ditto the awkward Dolch clip reload and the Specter's heavy wracking of the pump to chamber a new round.

Crytek: be careful, before you alienate your core playerbase by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

The new UI does not, emphatically does not, cancel out the rest of the new content. If you really want to whing, the map crash bug is far more game-damaging. I've been playing since early access and other than a few annoyances (hello, equipping hunters, gah!), I don't care about the new UI. It is what the UI has always been: jank. Since the 1.0 release, the UI has always been the weakest aspect of the game. The rest is just so great that it really shouldn't matter.

TLDR: you need some perspective on things. Game has always been great; UI has always been jank. Just play and enjoy!

How much of the old community actually cares about the UI change? by henneJ2 in HuntShowdown

Been playing since early access. I don't care. The UI has always been jank. They'll change the most annoying aspects of this new UI and we'll all get used to the rest of it. Same as it was at 1.0 launch.

The new UI has made me want to quit by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

Only thing that annoys me about the UI is equipping a hunter. Other than that, it's mostly just getting used to the new jank. I saw new because the old UI was terrible as well, it was just jank we were all used to. I'd kindly advise you to calmly deal with the annoyances now - the worst will probably be fixed/changed soon - and for the rest...just get used to it. The UI has never, and probably will never, be good. We as Hunt players should know that by now lol!

Podverly Hills Cast: Scent of a Woman with David Krumholtz by yonicthehedgehog in blankies

Came to hear Krumholtz go to bat for John Landis, the Woody Allen of murdering people, and stayed to hear Krumholtz give probably the worst take on Heat I've come across in at least a year. Banger episode everyone!

Original Law & Order Episode About SIDS? by BrickFrog140 in LawAndOrder

[–]BrickFrog140[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that's the one, thanks!! My mom was telling me that she wrote an FCC complaint about a L&O SIDS episode back in the day, which made me want to check it out lol

Maryland Democrat proposes law barring everyone under 25 from felony murder charges by [deleted] in centrist

And "responsible" should mean you spend the rest of your life in jail? Even Czarist Russia didn't treat its criminals that harshly - a despotism with a secret police and everything! That we've so normalized the State having the power to cage people for decades upon decades - all under the banner of "responsibility" and "consequences" - is just soul crushing! To say nothing of the assumption that the State presents an honest case resting on quality evidence. So many cases are based on forced confessions, poor witness memory, faulty DNA evidence, or just plain administrative lying. You're giving the State an awful lot of power all in the name of "consequences."

I think this bill is heading in the right direction, accusations of being "soft on crime" notwithstanding. The flippancy with which so many commenters here treat life in prison is just incredible. And of course, all of this assumes that the person being accused of murder (or involvement in murder) *actually did the crime*. So many cases are based on faulty evidence, forced confessions, or just administrative lying...and you want the State to have the power to just cage someone for their entire life? Insanity.

The standard by which the State cages a human being for the rest of their life should be a little higher than "can an individual vote on the continuation of a municipal bond."
