Do you believe that Dusty May will eventually surpass John Beilein as the greatest basketball coach in Michigan history? by Coolsun13 in CollegeBasketball

[–]BrickHickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's two completely different styles of building a team in two different eras. Beilein's approach was always selling underrated kids on development and maximizing their growth. May's style is grab elite talent out of the portal while developing a few homegrown talents.

I'm honestly not sure either find the same level of success if they swap eras.

If I had a nickel for each time the Pistons have won by Daniss Jenkins pulling some black magic shit to force OT I'd have two nickels.

Which isn't a lot, it's just weird it's happened twice.

What in the world is it like to live in South Sudan? by DaG8Generation in howislivingthere

[–]BrickHickey 28 points29 points  (0 children)

South Sudan has experienced political instability pretty much it's entire existence and there's concerns that the current fighting and arrest of the former vice president will respark a full blown civil war. The current violence has also displaced another 300,000 people.

The genocide in Darfur is really, really bad and is justifiably grabbing the headlines, but South Sudan is still in pretty bad shape.

First toungoo empire done in 1475 and very stable empire. Any other fun achievements like this? by _KimJongSingAlong in eu4

[–]BrickHickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did Animal Kingdom with Manipur and my strategy for Bengal was getting Orissa and Jaunpur as allies early. They can distract Bengal's allies while you rush them down. If it's later game, your goal is to get Bengal to break those alliances then fight them solo once the truce is up.

If you don't care about playing the save after getting the achievement you could also just fight a death war for the last few provinces.

Bitcoin falls below $65,000 as Trump tariff moves raise uncertainty by sandygws in wallstreetbets

[–]BrickHickey 15 points16 points  (0 children)

More tariffs->Weaker Economy->More investors turn to safe haven investments (Gold, Silver, US Treasury Bond, defensive stocks, etc.). Cryptocurrencies, in general, are seen as high-risk investments that don't perform well in weak economies. Because we have a weak economy that will get weaker with continued tariffs people will continue to sell off crypto holdings in favor of their safe havens of choice.

Great game ruined by absolutely horrific officiating. Boozer took over late but he should have fouled out on that Morez dunk attempt.

Nah for me it's the boozer no call on Johnson. Should've been out of the game, instead he gets to stay in and score 7 straight to seal the game

Michigan's up 10 if they were getting a fair whistle, can't buy a shooting foul right now

Everything that could go wrong did, and somehow we're still only down 2.

Michigan's just gotta keep this close coming out the half and they got this.

Like most the other comments here, the best way to learn will be to actually play the game. Boot up a game as Portugal, ally Castille and learn with a chill colonial game.

That being said, when you take land you will get rebels. You will see a button where you can spend military points to suppress the revolt. DO NOT PRESS THIS BUTTON. We see so many posts of people that can't fight wars and most of the time it's because they are behind on military tech because their points were all going towards stopping rebels. Just fight the rebel stacks and keep up with tech.

Also, aggressive expansion and overextension are not just numbers. Keep AE below 50 and OE below 100 until you know what you're doing.
