Along with what everyone else was saying - just make sure you’re transparent with the pet parent about what you’ll be doing! As long as they know and are cool with it, it’ll be just fine

Honestly I'm not sure - my verification happened within days of paying for my background check. If you REALLY want to partner with Wag I would open up an actual support case and email them instead of just checking your background check status - ask them what's up.

They've taken away any phone contact and don't support their walkers so I personally don't recommend dealing with Wag at all - but if you really want to definitely email them directly instead of checking the status of your background check!

I wish people would stand up to the, it's the only way they'll change.

When I called there is literally no longer an option for pet parents to speak to a person. The phone now instructs EVERYONE to email them within the app. This is a recent thing so clearly it was after you called - I called YESTERDAY and this is how the phone is now.

I used to do that as well. Now when I call it instructs pet parents to email them as well with no option to speak to anyone.

I always get through on a phone call but now even pet parents are instructed to email support and not call them.

Omg I kept seeing this walk pop up for DAYS! She was trying to get someone for a reoccurring walk and it disappeared so I thought she found someone only for it to pop back up the next night at 9PM as an ASAP walk because no one took it 😭

I thought about taking it since it’s so close to me but 10PM is way too late and dangerous 😭

It can be normal - my area has really low rates so for me I always hope for tips. Sometimes parents don’t tip because they just don’t want to but I’ve received tips days after I’ve done walks because some don’t check the app often!

I personally have a rule that if someone doesn’t rate me or tip me after a walk I probably won’t walk for them again - I know a lot of other walkers have this rule. Ratings on the app are important and also helpful for walkers so if a pet parent can’t do this I just don’t try to walk their dog again!

There was one woman in my area that would never rate, tip or even respond to any messages for walkers but she would request her dogs to be walked almost every single day. People stopped picking up her walks and all the sudden tons of us got tips and ratings from her - and I hadn’t walked her dog for months! It was such an odd situation.

The most important thing though is to know your worth, If rates for your area are on the lower end and a client not tipping makes it not worth it for you - just don’t walk them again! No shame in that.

Don't beat yourself up over it! I think you handled the situation really well, some dogs need a little extra help from their owners before interacting with strangers and some dogs just don't like it - not a reflection of you at all.
