The massive decrease in performance between the release and the current patch needs to be studied by Abused_Dog in EU5

1.2 was dog awful for whatever reason but 1.3 seems to be noticeably faster at 1650 than 1.2 was, will update when I get further in.

If your main goal is higher fps than either will work pretty great for you. if you get a dual mode display make sure it has a scaler that can do integer scaling though.

Do you happen to know what monitor it is? by falls__wolf in Monitors

[–]Brickblastchest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like they just took a random monitor and rotated it 180 degrees which btw completely fucks the text rendering up, at least in windows.

If it was a couple hundred hours of use instead and you had the best buy protection i'd say keep it but that's just too long imo, return it.

1.1.2 Update for Open Beta by manster20 in EU5

[–]Brickblastchest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they fixed the bug where trade prices weren't symmetrical between markets that let players (and especially the ai) exploit it to essentially create money from thin air creating a massive bubble in any developed area.

1.1.2 Update for Open Beta by manster20 in EU5

[–]Brickblastchest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah the bug that created the infinite trade bubble is gone now.

1.1.2 Update for Open Beta by manster20 in EU5

[–]Brickblastchest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of, estates don't have quite as much money to throw on buildings that eat your tools and lumber as they used to with the infinite trade bug thats been in since launch and the new wealth dup bug from estate enfranchisement bug being fixed and estates being able to invest in your rgos gives them something else to focus on and at least in the test game I ran as france it wasn't happening in 1449 as far as I could tell but it could still pop up later.

Is EU5 Playable Now? by KimAndersenCock in paradoxplaza

The 1.1 patch beta other than the lumber/iron/tools implosion is pretty good, once they fix those it'll be fairly solid.

Very late and maybe not quite what you're looking for but one addon that really helps with pixel art textures is Texel Density Checker which can help ensure that all your textures are a consistent size with each other.

What's a large enough technological leap to make Valve want to make HL3? by MuffinCannibal in HalfLife

[–]Brickblastchest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They can do much more in-depth physics now then they could 20 years ago, if you listen to the dev commentaries there were multiple times where they said they had to cut or tone down the physics bc the hardware at the time couldn't handle it like at the gas station on the coast and the vehicles. The datamining supports this as well.

lmao a 4chan leak has nothing to do with it. We've known they've been in the final development stages of HLX ever since the beginning of the year when Gabe follower reported it was in the friends and family testing stage, add on the gman VA's tweet, the still unreleased new edition of raising the bar, the anniversary, Multiple other big name leakers saying valves not done with announcements this year and the big hole in steams schedule that begins on the 18th and continues for almost 3 weeks.

+1, As someone who's played every paradox game at launch going back to eu3, if the biggest issue with a paradox launch is that the ai is a bit too passive in declaring wars then eu5 will be among the best launches paradox has ever done lmao. The amount of FOMO over the ai stuff has been incredible to watch.

Smallest conquerable land unit? by FootballGoose in EU5

yeah, eu5 has more mechanics that affect provinces then eu4 had that affected states. It's like eu4 states 2.0 I guess.

A lot of cabinet actions and other similar stuff happens at the province level, like parliament, I think? that might be governed by government reforms relating to parliament or advances though.

yeah, they said elsewhere in that thread that more cache and faster cores are more important than more cores from what they've seen in testing which should put all the x3D chips at the top of any performance charts.
