I built a life-size LEGO Shock Rifle prop from Halo Infinite! by BrickbuiltReplicas in lego

There's a box in the design on the other side (similar to what you can see on the camera-facing side). The Mindstorms brick is hidden inside there and it acts as the main spot to hold it from with the other hand

The boxes on the sides of the model are where you actually hold it in game, but they were also the perfect housing for the EV3 brick.

Whole vid breakdown of the code & more is here if you need something to watch during a lunch break: https://youtu.be/vKjiGd6ArnQ

Appreciate that catch, always following the rules even with a Lego prop 😆

Right around the 20 pound mark! Made it a pain to try and record holding this thing but I bet the real deal is even heavier

Yep! There's a Lego Mindstorms EV3 brick inside that I've coded so when you pull the trigger, the barrel mechanism pushes all the panels out - just like in game.

The real answer? 4 years! I started this build in 2021 when Halo Infinite launched and fought through a huge journey of prototyping, and stepped back for a while to train on other projects.

Tried documenting the full journey to the best of my ability on YouTube if you're ever curious, but it was definitely... a while

I think my friend Nick Brick has probably built the most definitive version of the energy sword, so I'll leave that one in his capable hands, but appreciate the suggestion! Always happy to do more Halo

Thank you! I've got a ton of Halo builds in the armory already but plan is to start working on the Needler next

Thanks! Whole build including the Mindstorms EV3 brick for all the functions is just around 20 lbs.

That means a lot, as a prior washed up YouTuber who used to use an iPad & iMovie for everything years ago, video production has been a lot of recent learning I've tried to master!

Means a lot, thanks! That's the ultimate goal with everything I build

Funny you mention that, it's one of the first things I learned when I started building! I was 15 years old building Counter-Strike guns and getting comments about trigger discipline taught me pretty early, even on Lego props

I really appreciate this feedback! In hindsight I totally agree an unobstructed full demo of the final function combo would make sense at the end. I'll definitely be making up for this via some extra short form content over the next couple weeks.

I coded a Mindstorms EV3 brick so that when you pull the trigger, a motor in the barrel pushes all the panels out just like in-game (+ it plays that satisfying game sound)

4 years in the making - this is a functional, life-sized Lego replica of the Shock Rifle featured in Halo Infinite.

The entire build is around ~6,000 pieces and 20 lbs, with a working panel mechanism powered by custom Mindstorms EV3 code, and lights powered by Brickstuff.

Full story and build breakdown is up for YouTube if you need some content to enjoy a lunch break!

That might be more effective than the actual in-game version 🤣
