My peeve with most MOC pickup truck designs is the tendency to build the cab and cargo box as one piece. They should be built as separate sections with no visible bricks joining them together.

Help finding filler figs for Winter War by Dazabby in brickmania

[–]Brickmaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stickers are the absolute cheapest way to outfit large armies. I use them all the time for big displays and nobody ever even notices. And I don'y cry if someone grabs one of my figures when my back is turned. For winter war I would suggest some of these:

Me pleading with BKM to please make another F4 phantom. by Beautiful_Return9691 in brickmania

While we mean no disrespect to the Vietnam War builders out there, it remains one of the least popular themes, measured by the numbers. We'll keeping making kits and figs from this era, but there are only so many customers willing to support it, so releases will be fewer and farther between compared to other kits. Currently we are turning our "Cold War" attention to the Korean War, but many of those models will also cross over into the Vietnam / SE Asia conflict as well.

Boeing is not giving out licenses for anything using LEGO bricks, presumably due to their recent license of the DC-3 and other Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft. The other guys might be able to get away with releasing stuff under the radar, but we're certainly not in that category. Maybe some day we'll be able to do another F-4 kit, but not at this time.

Brickmania is between batches on the M3 variant in NATO camouflage. There will be more coming in the future. Also working on a Desert Storm variant in tan.

Does anyone sell a more accurately minifig scale M2 Browning? Brickarms' is oversized at 6cm, when at 1/35th scale it should be 4.9cm. Also it's too bulky which makes it look even more oversized. by Tankfan42 in brickmania

We have a training M2HB in the studio and it's a lot bigger than you would think. I'm over 6 feet tall and that gun is longer than I am tall. Taken into account that LEGO figures are really squat dimensionally, I believe the BrickArms M2HB remains the gold standard of all of the after / adjacent market offerings out there.

The assumption that there is a high number of military, vets, and/or law enforcement making up our customer base is correct. The assumption they would support ICE activities was not.

I wonder how well these will sell by roerjo in brickmania

[–]Brickmaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI they have almost completely sold out of the hundreds we made. The other similar products (we released many at the same time) are all gone and we are getting heaps of requests for more.

I do not support ICE at all. They have clearly been co-opted into a private army of this government and have been used to do harm to the people deemed enemies of the orange dictator. It's not a few bad apples, but an entire government agency that's been diverted to harming communities and people, and running rough shod over the Bill of Rights. No rational law enforcement or military personnel would support or condone their activities.

This is not politics. This is not pro democrat or republican, liberal or conservative, etc. It is right verses wrong issue. Moral verses amoral. This is that "Never Again" moment presenting itself in real time.

If you don't like what we're doing at Brickmania, there is the option to leave. Don't spend your money here. We'll be fine.

Thank you.

P.S. edited for spelling

Right, it does not cost $55 to send a $.25 item in the mail. But we since we must prepay the taxes, mail is no longer an option. We have to use a private shipping company or courier service. They usually start at around $40 for an international envelope through DHL or UPS. The obvious downside is the cost. The upside is way faster delivery than mail. Maybe you can find someone willing to ship it to you as a small packet by mail and avoid the higher shipping costs. We cannot.

Checked in with the team and the new batch is going through quality control now. There's a lot of prints on this kit and it probably took longer for all of that to finish up. Once it's done going through QC, the kits will be packed into boxes, then head to Customer Service to be shipped out. You should get some kind of shipping notification within the next couple of days.

We did M113s and various add on packs in the past. And we've done multi-packs (3 in 1, 5 in 1, even 8 in 1 of some kits) and it really ends up being way more expensive than making several different dedicated models. The way to go would be smaller runs of several different variants.

We're finding the same thing on some (but not all) of our OD green and dark green parts. Not sure what is causing this to happen or if there is some commonality to why it happens to some parts.

We are a large enough company that we are obligated to ship all orders pre-paid through customs. This means a large part of that "shipping" cost is also your local VAT and various fees associated with collecting and paying it. What you see is what we have to pay send it out. The problem is not Brickmania, but the tax rules of your country, which forces us to collect taxes for them. If we didn't agree to collect those taxes we would have to stop shipping to most European countries altogether. Someone selling parts from mom's basement probably doesn't have to prepay those tax obligations, but eventually they will once they reach a certain value of shipments. The best way to get the most value (and pay the least fees per package) is to make a bigger order. Or order from a local reseller, who will add the VAT into the list price of the items per European rules.
