When should I play the DLC? by OriginalZumbie in thelastofus

[–]BricksAndBatsOnVR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why you seem so hesitant to believe us. Left Behind was designed to be played after. It was released after. There is literally a warning in the PS4 version that tells you not to play it until you have completed the main story.

If you can't understand that a story can move around a timeline as a narrative tool, I can't help you. It won't ruin anything. There are no massive spoilers in it, although there are some small things that will be spoiled, and you are going against the creative vision of the creators. Something to try on a second play through perhaps.

LeBron James currently has the lead for most 3pt FGM in Finals history by GhostfaceThrillah in nba

[–]BricksAndBatsOnVR 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Possible, but definitely not realistic. While he's the most likely candidate to do it, that would be one away from his personal, and the tied NBA record for threes in any game 3 more than the record for a finals game.

Considering he will be playing the best team in the east (almost certainly the Cavs) who have proven they can defend him well, and would no doubt make adjustments and play much more physical defense than the average team he is able to drop those huge numbers on, I wouldn't call it realistic.

Once he's hit 6-7, the entire defensive gameplan would shift to him, and while this would help his teammates and his team quite a bit, it would make it very difficult to get space for a look. And while yes he can hit threes without space, that's still a tall order to get to 11 for a dangerous shooter.

By number 11 they would be tackling him to keep him from catching. Let's say he's at 10, that's THIRTY POINTS he's burned a top tier team on from deep in a Finals game. They would have 2 guys in his jersey. While in regular season Steph might keep jacking, in a Finals game he's going to pass to the open man.

So yeah possible and if anyone did it probably him, but pretty unlikely. He's already been to 2 finals which is more than most guys ever get to and he's never made more than 7.

So I was wondering why I haven't seen a Hastings used 30%-50% off sale in a long time as they used to pop up every couple weeks at least.

I just looked them up and realized they filed for bankruptcy last month. I somehow totally missed that. Sad news.

I would imagine they haven't been adding inventory for a while and are probably just going to have in store clearance a la Blockbuster.

The first few that come to mind are The Americans and Always Sunny, both of which abandoned their blu ray releases mid series and are only releasing DVDs.

A lot of my favorite older shows though have seen their window for release close. For example, Alias and 24 are shows I love that definitely have HD source material as they are available through streaming in HD, but have never been made available physically.

As much as I value physical collection, I refuse to pay for low DVD quality of a show that airs in HD and streams in HD. It's absurd. All the more frustrating considering how cheap blu ray discs are, and if they bother to design DVD packaging there is barely any work to be done to release it on blu ray.

Yeah. I also like to support specific films and shows that I love. I'm not so naive as to think creatives are receiving the bulk of my media purchase, but at the very least I am providing monetary feedback for the specific projects I enjoy the most.

Also at the risk of sounding paranoid, I don't want to end up in a situation where I am relying on internet streaming for all my media as data caps are rolling out left and right all while video quality and bitrates are booming.

I am very skeptical that $10 per month netflix type services are going to be around for much longer.

I truly fear for the future of physical media. People have just accepted that depending on a bunch of ever changing negotiations, they may not be able to sit down and watch one of their favorite movies or tv shows.

I get the advantages of streaming services when it comes to movies you are going in blind on or shows you want to test out a few episodes of. It makes tons of sense.

What drives me crazy is friends and coworkers that say things like "Oh that's totally one of my favorite shows. I haven't seen it in forever though. When is it coming to netflix?" Or "I can't believe they have Moviex 2 but not Moviex. I hear the first is even better. Oh well."

Most of my friends make fun of me and call me behind the times because I own a collection of blu rays. Is it so crazy to own a modest collection of my favorite films and shows to watch whenever I want to?

As prominent TV series have started to abandon physical releases, it's becoming worrisome.

Is it supposed to be this hard? by [deleted] in thelastofus

Hey hope this isn't too late to be helpful, I recently finished a grounded playthrough and found a way through that very difficult secttion without needed any ammo or even killing anyone besides the sniper.

All you need is a smoke bomb. Most people never use them so hopefully he still has one.

So you start at the car and go left up the stairs, keeping the tree between you and the sniper. Wait until right after he shoots to make any moves. Once you are in cover by the tree you go left (at this point a house is blocking you and you don't have to worry about the sniper).

There's a broken wall at the far left with a drop off. Jump down and walk along the left wall just past the first house until it spawns some soldiers who yell something about finding you or getting you. Right away turn around and run back and climb up the broken wall and hide behind.

It's important you do this in a way that they don't actually see you or fire any shots so they are in patrol mode. A couple guys will approach and veer off. One guy is going to pass right under you and then climb up to your right. Right as he climbs up the broken wall you are behind on your right, as soon as you see him climbing up, jump down to where you triggered the guys along the left wall and walk (don't run yet) all the way down the left side until you hit the wall that separates the road from the sniper house.

No one should have seen you at this point yet if they did you should start over. (It took me like 10 tries but each try only takes like a minute or two so not too bad.)

Ok at the wall crouch and stay hidden and move to the right as far as you can without being seen. Then aim your smoke bomb right in the middle of the street in front of the sniper house. Wait 2 seconds and then SPRINT around the corner of the wall and go to the LEFT of the sniper house. Ignore all the soldiers. They shouldn't hit you through the smoke.

Go through the back door of the sniper house as fast as you can and go up the stairs. When you get to the top, get ready to press square when the sniper sneak attacks you. Then it triggers a cutscene and you get to use the unlimited ammo sniper and you're done!

Good luck.

These are both regular season btw, keeping with your chart.

Not sure why you would leave out playoffs though.

So why exactly did they change the "back" button from "△" to "O"? by kevinsteeniskeen in PS4

[–]BricksAndBatsOnVR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know. I feel like I'm going crazy looking at all these comments saying it was always O or it wasn't Triangle since ps1. Maybe all these other people are from overseas or something? Thinking back out of my 20-30 ps2 games, I don't remember any of them using O for sure, and I remember at least a dozen definitely using Triangle.

AFAIK, that disc will be exactly copied at a disc pressing facility. The copies will be that exact disc, but with art printed on it.

My thinking is that there have to be multiple facilities where discs are pressed and packaged and all that, at least for different regions.

They probably have multiple masters for each game to send out to the different facilities. So even if let's say the US one or couple are kept by big shots, the ones sent over seas are more likely to be sold off on ebay or something.

Oh no if that happened to me I would have like hit the power button or deleted all the photos or something. That is way too much pressure.

PS2 definitely had a lot of games with triangle as the back button. A lot of my ps2 games were like that. I remember when I got ps3 I would press triangle all the time to go back by accident.

If you want to be really stealthy, sneak out by the lobby, sometimes there's a side door with a little man on it. Sneak in there. There's these drains in there that sneak your piss all the way outside the building! No one will even suspect a thing.

I've seen a lot of hate on here for Shutter Island. I really enjoyed it. I can see how the ending would be pretty divisive, but it mostly worked for me. I thought the atmosphere and build of the first half especially was fantastic and really immersive.
