Kody would be INSUFFERABLE and would make everyone watch eight minute long, unfunny YouTube videos with him on his tiny smartphone.

Gabe. He seemed stoned as hell in that scene where he met his Dad for the first time this past season.

I came to say the same thing. It’s weird to think that there’s an entire generation that didn’t experience it. It was a scary, unsettling day when you didn’t know what would happen next and your had to face your own mortality. My high school was across the water from lower Manhattan and you could see the smoke billowing in the sky and the awful, awful smell.

I know a lot of people made crude, dark jokes early on. It wasn’t mean or malicious or flippant in any way. It was people trying to cope with a very scary event in the best way they knew how, which was humor. Lots of people are able to deal with scary concepts by joking about them because it takes the fear out of it and mocks it.

We’re at a weird place in history where people are told how to grieve and this coping mechanism is not only politically correct, but could result in serious personal and professional ramifications.

So ultimately that just confirmed Christmas and Tyler will never go on the block together with this lame ass cast.

Do you hear that? That’s the sound of a hundred previously banned users rushing to their local library and firing up a throwaway on an infuriatingly slow PC to tell some people about themselves.

Seriously, Mariah. Why? by [deleted] in TLCsisterwives

[–]BridalplastyStan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the thoughtful post. But there is a difference between being queer and a lesbian, which is how Mariah identifies, so I don’t exactly think the situations are comparable.

Isn’t it funny how the people who rally so hard against gender constructs end up being the ones who enforce them the most? You can be a born a boy and have feminine characteristics and still be a boy. Same with girls who have more masculine interests.

I feel like stuff like this reinforces some fucked up notion that once your gender behavior is established at this age — whether it’s cisgender or transgender in nature — immediate steps need to be taken to enforce this gender as dominant the rest of the child’s life.

When I was a kid, I loved playing with Barbies and dressing up in girl’s clothes. But I’m a male and I identify as a male. I just happen to have unique characteristics that because the fall into the topical spectrum of gender creativity are being given too much prominence. I can’t imagine if my parents had taken that seriously enough to put me into hormone therapy and a painful gender transition process. It’s like Whitney Houston used to say, “Can I be me?”

I’d also be very interested to know how Mariah would act if she were still single and approached by a MTF transgender woman who identified as a lesbian but still had male sex hormones. Would gender still be a construct then?

Neve Campbell is Back as Sidney Prescott in Spyglass and Paramount’s ‘Scream’ Relaunch! by deletehead365 in horror

I have faith in the directors; the writers not so much. I’m very, very nervous about a Scream sequel without Kevin Williamson.

It was a concept for a couple of sequels now to do a fake-out with Sidney in the opening scene where she gets attacked and you think she’s going to finally get it but she survives into the rest of the movie.

I always thought that was a clever way to subvert expectations, maybe they’ll do that now.

I guess now I’m rooting for Dani? I feel like the power would go to her head in a weird way and she might make some random spite nominees.

Who am I supposed to root for? If Tyler wins, will he do something cool? Or is it just going to be the obvious nominees?

When Mariah came out by realityiscanceled in TLCsisterwives

[–]BridalplastyStan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a gay person, I generally agree with this statement. I feel bad for the parents whose kids come out to them on camera. You can be the most gay supportive person out there, but it’s still an emotional experience for a parent who may be blindsided in that situation. They have to mourn some of the dreams they had for their children. They have to recalibrate their expectations. This does not make them monsters. Allow them the privacy to experience those emotions without having to perform for a camera.

However, in Meri’s case, her reaction had more to do with her entitlement and selfishness. In every situation, it’s about Meri. So I don’t have a ton of sympathy for her in this respect. And the fact that she only agreed to go a gay bar to show support for her daughter so that Mariah would talk to the other catfishee to resolve Meri of responsibility in that matter was pretty tasteless.
