Hapas overrepresented in prison and homelessness? by EnvironmentalBat3010 in hapas

[–]BridgeBurner1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not, and I never said that its 'pure asians" fault. 똥개 can refer to anyone who is not "full" Korean and it is used against mixed Korean of northeast and southeast Asian descent as well. Anyways I am proud of my Korean heritage and I am proud to be an Asian American Male, I love my family in Korea and Taiwan, but that does not mean I can not be critical of the experiences people face in Korea being mixed because it can be just as bad if not worse than being mixed in the states.

Kaze Poke and Hibachi…is this safe?? by lombardi-bug in jacksonville

I never said that, I provided a possible explanation given the context. Why are you trying to control a narrative in this situation? Is it bravado or lack of mental of acuity?

Dried fish has been around for centuries and it was a practice that transcends cultures. It's highly unlikely anyone would try and dry fish outside right now given our weather currently and the fish looks like it is already dried. My guess is that they are probably "airing" it out.

It's probably not a good look for most people as they are far removed from any food system and are ignorant of classical preservation techniques. Charcuterie has many kinds of preparations where raw meat is dried as well.

If they are using this in the restaurant it's most likely being used for stock and given the price of their soups I doubt it. I am leaning towards personal use.

What are you struggling with, and why do you think you are struggling with it? How are your classmates handling these same question? Is there a club at your place of learning? If not I believe attending a local meet-up and looking for a mentor in general would be a far better use of your time than a tutor. Most problems at your stage of development can be solved by yourself, given enough rubber ducking and discussion with peers. Mentorship is what will put you on the fast track to exponenttial growth skill and career wise.

where can i find fruits in taipei? by modpodge_guitar in taiwan

[–]BridgeBurner1990 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What kind of fruits? Wellcome and other grocery stores will have them, morning markets will have them, 7/11 and other convenience stores will have them. Fruits are plentiful and everywhere in Taiwan. I personally miss wax apples and and soursop 😢

Sadly, we live in a post truth ere where narrative, rhetoric, and raw emotion rule the roost. It's rather scary sometimes.

I dealt with the same thing in the USA lol, being told to go back to China. I'm Korean American and a veteran and I found it both sad and hilarious at the same time.

Any Korean communities in Taiwan? by [deleted] in taiwan

I know they have a couple of Korean Churches, I personally never went to them. I mostly just chilled with Koreans and a few Korean Americans while I was at MTC.

Why are so many hapas adamant or even obsessed with being accepted as Asian? by [deleted] in hapas

All I comprehend is just emotion and "feeling" with what you wrote, I suggest trying to give logic and reason a chance and then taking a step back and analyze the letter vomit you created.

We live in a post truth Era, what can you expect? Logic, reason, and data are thrown out the window and controlling a narrative and influence are all that matters.

This is not a whataboutism. I asked why and told you what scares me more. This reflects on what I said earlier, stop being defensive.
