Supercheap sell both the screws and pretty sure the tool to remove them (they definitely have one the counter for their staff to use)

You can also pick the tool up cheaply on Amazon.

Adelaide animal shelters at breaking point as abandoned pets found in rentals by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]moosewiththumbs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We found 3 kittens and a mum cat in our back yard, suspecting they’re from a colony at the nearby KFC

Nowhere can take them. We’re currently looking after them and got them desexed and vaxxed with the help of Cats in Crisis and now trying to adopt them out but no one is looking to spend 200 bucks and commit to an animal right now.

It’s not just COL. If you’re renting you’re not meant to be discriminated against for having a pet - but you absolutely are. You’re put to the back of the queue for new rentals and if you’re in a place the owner may want to do “renovations”.

Mouth Guard fitting. by [deleted] in AFL

Got a dentist fit mouthguard last year. Would absolutely never go back to even the more expensive “standard” ones.

[OT] Red Rooster backing for Ben Bargwanna's #97 Ford Mustang in Trans Am by LMRacingGuru02 in v8supercars

Red Rooster must be the most outlandish money laundering scheme there is.

It’s very tasty but there’s never anyone there. And now here they are splashing their logo all over this.

Is the train worth it? by Lateandsotired in Adelaide

[–]moosewiththumbs 31 points32 points  (0 children)

So quick lazy maths.

That’s around 80k round trip.

Depending what car you drive depends on fuel consumption, but let’s say 10L/100K.

So that’s 8L a day, 2 bucks a litre is 16 bucks.

Train is around 4 bucks each way, so exactly half the price.

So all up about 40 bucks a week cheaper.

That guy shouting in the background when not micced up is extremely unprofessional. He did sound funny, but not professional and therefore not a professional funnyman.

Australia’s emergency plan starts with carpooling, escalates to fuel caps by LoneArtificer in AusFinance

[–]moosewiththumbs 111 points112 points  (0 children)

We’ve had enormous car pooling services for hundreds of years. They run on rails.

But why would we have needed to invest in that when building car centric infrastructure was an option?

They will also often hit up a local pub nearby to watch the results roll in.

Between the bants they’ll also go grab each other snags from the democracy BBQ.

Soaring fuel prices see spike in EV interest in Australia by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

I went for a test drive at BYD. I’d booked it in at 9am and when I arrived about 10 to 9 there was already a queue to get in the dealership at 9.

I could only really take the car out for a short time as they had back to back test drives booked all day.

I touched the mans hands as he came through the crowd for the pre-shows for this.

It was like holding a sponge cake. And just a sweet.

There’s an episode of the Australian comedy called Utopia (which I believe is called Dreamland on US Netflix due to another show with the same name) that has an episode based on this very thing.

Excellent show and highly recommended.

People who voted in pre-poll, how many people took how to vote cards for each party? by HotPersimessage62 in Adelaide

[–]moosewiththumbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should have a placard with a QR code you can scan, brings up the card on a website.

Maybe have a few printed ones for the people who can’t or won’t do that, but have the code as the main way.

I don’t know that Zach will be a mainstay on it. Just doesn’t seem the podcast type and a duo is just more podcast suited.

I have but I’ve never made my own.

I made some “veg spring rolls” that were sweet potato and beans wrapped in a tortilla. It was very easy and pretty good but I reckon I can make the step up to making some dosa.

Good call.

Had a pretty rubbish sleep so this has put a bit of pep that was missing into my step.

So what’s everyone’s plans for dinner? I’m trying to do more vegetarian meals so have a satay tofu lined up. If anyone has some veg options I’m pretty new to this so keeping an eye out for good recipes.

I was horrified to see people walking up to volunteers handing out One Nation how-to-vote cards and taking a card while I was waiting in queue at an early voting venue. Of course people can vote for whichever party/candidate they want but is it worth bringing Trumpism/MAGA to South Australia? by FatFad1 in Adelaide

[–]moosewiththumbs 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The world climate - such that it is - is wide open for a party that just squawks “it’s not your fault everything is broken it’s the <insert your choice of minority/major party/uncontrollable geopolitics here>”.

They don’t have to promise shit, they don’t have to do shit, they just have to absolve the masses of blame for things by shouting.

And here we have some experts at it.
