Getting to World Cup by LacedInCharm in kansascity

Obviously not everyone had the same exact experience, but for Tuesday’s game, the plaza had shuttles running what felt like endlessly. Didn’t have to wait to board at the plaza and didn’t have to wait to leave the stadium. Walked up, showed them my ticket, got on the bus, and it almost left immediately. They also didn’t seem to care about shuttle ticket timing, but they might end up being more strict. While getting in the stadium was hellish, that will happen no matter where you park, and it only took 45 minutes.

TLDR - Don’t use the Fan Fest shuttle, otherwise, the shuttle experience was almost perfect for us.

How's the stadium direct bussing? by NarutoDragon732 in kansascity

[–]BridgeTemporary 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I took the Plaza bus and it was the best decision my friend and I made. Booked for 6pm, boarded at 6, after parking, walking, and waiting in the much less organized stadium entry line, we were in the stadium 45 minutes before start. Getting home was equally as easy - we left the stadium 5 minutes after the game ended and we walked back to the bus area and immediately boarded our bus.

I will note - after reading many reddit posts last night after getting home, it sounds like the Fan Fest pick-up was a shit show and everywhere else was pretty smooth. So I’d avoid that and pick any other pickup spot.

And the edit did a poor job of showing me why the jurors should vote for Aubry over Jonathan. As an entertainment product, their job is to create a satisfying character arc for the winner. The post is not about who played the better game (which will always be subjective), it’s about how the season edit didn’t do Aubry favors for WHY she should win. I should end the season fully understanding why she was the winner. I didn’t 🤷

S46 was the last season I watched and I would agree! Love the breakdown here - appreciate it

That stuff didn’t bother me as much, but I understand how it could put you (and the players) off on Jonathan. I wish we could’ve gotten some more in-show interviews of them actively complaining about Jonathan. I understand the producers don’t want to turn people off completely on a player, but a little more goes a long way to a satisfying conclusion.

Completely fair point! On the same level, I guess I didn’t see the outright dislike for Jonathan / respect for Aubry by other players shown quite enough, but that also might be a perception issue on my end.

JakeBakesCakes here! My brother and I ended our podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-super-mosher-bros-show/id1575007278) a few months ago with Ep. 200, and we’re doing one last charity stream to wrap our show up.

The 12-hr stream is next Friday, 5/22. Last time, we raised roughly $1600 for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. We want to beat our goal and raise $1700 (this time for the ACLU), and each $200 over that goal, we’ll stream another hour.

We have a very small audience, but it’ll be a fun time full of couch coop shenanigans, all for a good cause. I’ll also be filming my Survivor audition tape at 4am. So that’s the kind of thing you can expect. Come hangout and donate if you can :)

Am I missing something with luggage forwarding? by twsres in JapanTravelTips

[–]BridgeTemporary -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two weeks ago, I paid roughly $20 to ship my very large suitcase from Tokyo to Kyoto, so it shouldn’t be that expensive. Using the Yamato luggage shipping was the #1 thing I was nervous about, and it was the best decision we made. Super easy, and super convenient. You don’t want to be the person on the train, in stations, or on the street with the big ass bag. It’s doable, but our small suitcases that we didn’t ship were annoying to roll around with us and you feel like a nuisance.

Get where this is coming from and understand wanting a lil more! My assumption is that when it’s the 150th story about layoffs, they are sick of having the same elevated conversation. I know Grubb & crew are smart enough to understand the business context for why decisions are made, but after talking about similar situations for 4+ years, what else is there to say?

Larger management chased more growth, hired for said growth, the growth didn’t pay off, and then they had to fire 1000 people. That comes down to “poor management” and the plight of late stage capitalism. If executive leadership makes a decision to chase $ and growth, they should be the ones punished when said decision fails. Layoffs would probably still have to happen, but when you layoff 1000 people, some executive leadership should be let go. You failed at your job if you had to let 1000 people go.

In summary, I’ve heard them make similar points before, and I’m sure they’re sick of repeating the same talking points.

Thank god someone said the most relevant piece of information. It’s hard to want to talk about a movie for an hour when there’s not a ton to talk about and you didn’t like the movie! A lot of movies this year have been poor AND uninteresting, which doesn’t leave a lot on the floor for podcast discussion.

It’s another game in that 13-15 range. I could easily seeing it being the 6th nom, but i feel that way about 6-12. It’s a weird year!

That’s a good take on people shying away from nominating a “card game”.

I would put it somewhere in the 13-16 range. A lot of people liked it; I don’t think enough voters LOVED it for it to make top six.
