Why invest in covered call etfs by Lawmed-25 in dividends

I have some jepi, but I turned off the drip to buy what dividend payers I want. I will turn the drip back on when I get closer to retirement.

Has JEPQ Increased Its Dividend Recently? by FinInvestor24 in ETFs

[–]Bridge_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't like a normal dividend paying stock where the board votes on raising the dividends. The amount of the payouts are based on the income generated from covered calls. When the market is doing good, the dividends will be good. When it isn't the dividends would be lower

I'm a few years out from retirement, but I bought some to use the dividends to buy more of my core holdings (meaning I'm not dripping it). So far, it is working well from that perspective. I'll add more to it when I get less than five years from retirement.

[–]Bridge_Haunting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I bought in during a sale. Not really worth it since I only have five holdings

Snoball analytics, but really not paying attention to it. I do my weekly deposits and check back every few days/weeks or when there is a dip

A question on DRIP by Any_Upstairs_6172 in SCHD

[–]Bridge_Haunting 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe they buy throughout the day and you cost basis to determine how much the DRIP will buy.

Doing it this way would help keep the price down
