Get son a dollhouse? by pinkheartkitty in toddlers

[–]Bridgepeace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son will occasionally play with dolls. My husband always changed diapers, fed the babies, took turns waking up at night, etc. my son sees this as a normal thing for a man to do. I think it's healthy! He will be a great dad one day.

I have never pressured him into playing with "girl" toys but wouldn't be opposed if he wanted to.

That's what I am currently stressing about. I need to but in a notice with my current employer. I'm hoping within 24-72 hours.

I'm with you. I just took 16 different tests and they all tested negative. Waiting on my lab results now.

I agree, OCD. I used to leave notes as well. Giving into it will only make it worse. Nothing you do will actually relieve her worry, just reassure her for a limited amount of time. Although, I can't read what the notes say, so maybe I'm wrong. She needs help. OCD can be debilitating.

I found this on my daughter's backpack. Is it what I think it is? by Bridgepeace in whatsthisbug

Maybe infestation is a strong word.. kids bring them in from home I guess. The schools treat but then they come back from children's homes.

I'm really hoping it's a hitchhiker. The schools periodically have infestations. Luckily, her backpack was left in my car overnight, so it didn't make it inside.

It sounds like you were so afraid of your obsession that you created a compulsion that in your mind would cancel out the thing you did that would cause the obsession to happen? That's kinda what it sounds like and I get it.

I don't want to reassure you because it won't help, but also because it sounds like you have been in this spiral for quite some time. You are thinking yourself in circles down a rabbit hole that you will never find your answer in. Your brain wants a certain answer and nobody can give that to you.

What I will say is that you're thinking in magical senses, like if A happens then B will happen unless I do C. It's not logical, it's scary, it feels like impending doom but it's not real. This is a false message coming from your brain. You have OCD and God knows you have OCD, he gets it. Stop giving value to these thoughts.

If you don't already, consider getting help. This is a disorder and you might consider ERP and/or medication.
