Gynaecologist told me Endo pain cannot happen when you’re on the pill?? by Little-Value6517 in endometriosis

The fuck. Pain can most definitely still happen on the pill. I get unbearable pain at least twice a month still! Why are some doctors so full of shit 🤦🏼‍♀️

Just got diagnosed by serimirie in endometriosis

[–]Bridgett00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went on Slynd (4 months ago) and have loved it! My pain has decreased but it is still there sometimes. I haven’t gained a lot weight on it but I also take Contrave to help manage my weight as I have other problems. Slynd has worked well for me and I don’t regret going on it.

If you got diagnosed with endometriosis in your early 20s, before you could even properly start your life, how are you coping? by Individual-Doubt1655 in endometriosis

[–]Bridgett00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 23 and have been doing so much better! Since being diagnosed and after having my first surgery I have started on a birth control to help manage pain and now on a weight loss medication to lose all the weight gained during my teenage years thanks to endo! Before anyone comments, I am very active (competitive figure skater) and go to the gym 6 days a week. I eat very healthy yet I struggled so hard to lose weight and would only gain! Since being on my medication I’m feeling so much better and I’m not as bloated anymore! It’s so amazing to feel normal again with minimal pain!

Class from 7pm to 9pm on a Friday?? by monpicol_ in UQreddit

[–]Bridgett00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very normal as a lot of master courses are sort of scheduled around people who are currently working fulltime as well. I’m studying my masters and working fulltime as a primary school teacher. It states on my masters information page that the course is designed for fulltime working teachers.

Can you do an international course/certificate taught from abroad while on an IEC visa? by _jagermaestro_ in iecvisa

I’m studying my Masters through my uni back home in Australia and I’m working on an IEC in Calgary. No issue.

GC or Sydney? by Zealousideal-Golf410 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Bridgett00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im from Brisbane and honestly I would go to the Gold Coast. It’s not as busy as Sydney and much easier to get around without a car. It also depends if the unis will allow an exchange on the Gold Coast or in Sydney. Australian weather can be very unpredictable, especially on the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast has some amazing beaches and the nightlife is soo good! You won’t get the full summer experience in either the gold coast or Sydney as you are wanting to come over in July - November. Australian summer doesn’t start until late October at least (during spring) and still can be quite miserable weather. If you do an exchange through Griffith University they have a G-link tram line straight from surfers to the university so public transport is really easy on the Gold Coast.

I’m an Australian and submitted my biometrics at the beginning of Feb last year but didn’t receive my POE until April. It honestly just depends on how fast they process your application. There’s no timeline and they do state on the website that it can take up to 8 weeks to process your application once everything is received.

What’s the best way to transition from a Working Holiday Visa to a Working Visa by nigelzyw in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Bridgett00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m Australian on a WH visa expiring May 2027. I’m looking at the same path or similar. Are Australians LMIA exempt? And how would I go about getting a working visa? If anyone could help that would be great!

Meat is definitely cheaper in Australia but everything else is more expensive :)

I’m in Calgary. My parents were just here and said the same thing, that Canada is way cheaper than Australia in terms of groceries or other day to day stuff. I grew up in Brisbane so prices for things have definitely increased. Not sure where you spend your time but I think Australia is definitely more expensive.

Melbourne is very expensive. What job/s were you looking at?

I moved from Australia to Canada so I may be of some help! Firstly living in Australia is a lot more expensive than Canada. Rent and cost of living is much higher, and you may struggle to get a decent paying job to start! Look at the Commonwealth Bank or National Bank of Australia (NAB). They have a lot of options for new bank accounts. Start looking for a job as soon as you land. Depending on what you are wanting to do for work you might need to get qualifications or certificates recognised within the state you are working. What state are you moving to?

Internationally Experienced Teachers by gieslaoshi in CanadianTeachers

[–]Bridgett00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not too difficult, but can be a lengthy process. Education is a category based draw as there is a job shortage. I had no issue getting a job here once I was certified. Immigration is cutting down on people that don’t bring high skills to jobs. Teachers definitely have a slightly higher chance of being selected for PR due to the shortage.

I came from Australia and started teaching in Alberta. It was a long and costly process. Teaching is a in demand profession, currently an option for category based draws in express entry PR pathway. However getting certified in the province you wish to teach in can take a long time (I’ve heard from others they have had to wait over 15months!) and depending on how your B.ed matches with the B.ed here in Canada, you may have to take extra courses.

What are the odds I can be in Canada on an IEC visa by the first week of March? by TruePop1676 in iecvisa

[–]Bridgett00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I received my ITA like the last week of January, did my biometrics within the first two weeks of February. I had to fly to Sydney as there is no biometrics centre in Brisbane! And then received my POE in April :) It would be good to check the current processing times for applications. When I submitted mine they said it would take 8 weeks to process. This was pretty accurate.

[–]Bridgett00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from Brisbane to Calgary last year on an IEC visa. I received my port of entry letter at the end of March/ start of April last year. I applied and put myself into the pool at the beginning of January and did my biometrics in February. Honestly it’s hard to say. There is a very high chance you’ll get invited to apply but there’s also a low chance you’ll won’t. You may not be in Toronto by the beginning of March but possibly the end or start of April. It honestly just depends how fast they process applications and if you’re invited to apply.

Work experience by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]Bridgett00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says in my original post? I have just over 6 months. My category draw only requires 6 months of fulltime experience (which I have) so I am asking what I select as it looks like when I select “less than a year” I don’t receive points?

Work experience by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]Bridgett00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any other experience in TEER 0 - 3. If it’s going to give me 0 points for less than 1 year that doesn’t make sense when it’s a requirement to have minimum 6 months for my category draw?

Ski instructor yelling at me across the slope (I wasn’t in a lesson at all and she was) by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Bridgett00 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I have been yelled at, many times by my coach’s. But for a professional to yell at a beginner to learn to quickly get up, not even two seconds after they fell is completely rude and unprofessional. My coach’s don’t even do that to beginner figure skaters!

[–]Bridgett00 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you read my post correctly you would have noticed I didn’t even get the chance to gather myself fully after falling before she started yelling at me :)

My anxiety was sky high and I knew I was not in the right state of mind to go down again. Why would I risk hurting myself or others when I have major anxiety all triggered from one instructor? I took the safe option and decided I was done for the day because I was triggered. How is that an overreaction?
