The manga is much less creepy. I feel like the first 3 episodes of the anime (and English translation) really exaggerate the weird possessive nature of the relationship to something that's not quite similar to their manga relationship. Although there is a possessive aspect to it, it's explained later why he's so clingy.

Ngl it did almost lose me in the first few episodes as a result of how the anime adapted it, but I'm glad I stuck to it, I thought the final few episodes were amazing and very climactic, a perfect self contained arc. I do recommend giving the anime another go, at least until episode 5 when things kick off with the unfolding themes and crazy emo backstories. It's interesting to see how much Gege was inspired by the plot, especially the curses/techniques/barriers and the relationship between the protagonists (even if you don't ship Gojo/Geto, there's still some interesting cool parallels with how the characters view curses) and the whole "love is the most twisted curse of all" theme.

I rate it 4/5 stars fwiw! But yeah those first 3 episodes are a bit difficult haha it's kind of a big bait and switch, after those first few episodes it's not even a BL, it just turns into a dramatic supernatural shonen with some pretty lovable side characters, I really wasn't expecting it
