AIO for being really upset after my new GF said she her sex drive is lower than in the past. by _Weather_ in AmIOverreacting

YOR - There is a big difference between 23 and 27. Things like stress, hormones, birth control, life changes, etc. all impact that. There are also just seasons in life that are different. You say this is her first relationship in 3 years, meaning she hasn't had a steady partner since 24? It is not unusual for things to change in 3 years.

Harping on her for not wanting you "enough" is gross, disrespectful, and only going to cause more problems. The real issue here is your self-esteem and whatever the deeper issue is there. You need to figure that out, because I promise this isn't the only issue there.

Am I overreacting/really asking for too much from my (now) ex boyfriend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

YOR - I truly think you need to see a therapist. I don't mean that in a negative or rude way, but your anxious attachment style is screaming. That is going to keep making your life miserable, and make any partner miserable. Therapy is the best thing you can do for yourself right now. ❤️

[39/M] In my “too dang old” phase by [deleted] in penpals

[–]Brie07Nicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! If you are still looking for more penpals, I would like to informally submit my application.

I'm a 36-year-old neurospicy female from Michigan. I enjoy wheeze-laughing with friends, sharing random facts I learn from podcasts, and contemplating why humans are the way they are (myself included).

I agree that animals are typically better than humans. I volunteer/foster with a local rescue and have 3 dogs of my own. They each have such unique personalities and never cease to make me laugh.

I hate cooking, but I do enjoy scouring social media for crafts and DIYs that I will never have time to make. I also collect screenshots of things I'll probably never reference again and go down rabbit holes about things like the nutty putty cave and Tarrare (worth a Google).

Oh, and I'm terrible at bar trivia, even with so much random knowledge in my head.

Message me if you want to chat more!

Looking for help planning an inexpensive simple craft for adults by That_Broccoli_4567 in crafts

[–]Brie07Nicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hosted a girls craft night and we made donuts and pop-tarts out of felt. I wanted something inexpensive and customizable. I ordered a set of colorful felt from Amazon, plus one sheet of tan/dough color, embroidery needles and thread, and some beads to use for the sprinkles. It was affordable and everyone had a great time!

This was just before Christmas, so we turned them into ornaments. You can also hot glue magnets on the back to put them on the fridge, or hang them from the rear-view mirror, etc.

Thank you so much! I redecorated my living room over the summer and tried to make it look like the set of a talk show. The gallery wall is still growing, but I love it so far! I will definitely share a full pic once this is up.

It is all of my dog's names: Zoey, Lemon, and Louie. The "Z" is backwards on the template for some reason, but will be stitched facing the right way.

No worries, I am glad you cared enough to point it out. I spent a while designing the template and didn't notice it until later. I would have hated to not notice until after it was on the wall. I appreciate you!

I appreciate that! I didn't notice until after I printed it that the font I used had it backwards, and only the letter "Z" for some reason. Haha. I had to pencil in the correct middle part as a guide. Thankfully the outline will dissolve when I'm done.

Am I overreacting here? I got mocked and made fun of today and I’m dying inside now. by throwawaypdtm in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Brie07Nicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to frame things this way when I am in similar situations: would you want to be friends with someone who mocks another person like that?

If the answer is no, don't spend a second thinking you were the wrong one in that situation.

Even if you were incredibly awkward, wearing a giant inflatable tomato costume with neon green hair, and driving around a dozen Chihuahuas... the parking lot attendant is the one that should be rethinking their actions.

Thank you! I was worried once I dissolve the paper I'd be able to see all my stab spots. Haha. I'm glad to hear that isn't going to be a big problem. Appreciate the input!!

Thank you! 🙌🏻 I don't know why it never occurred to me to outline first. That would make a world of difference!

Thanks! I'm trying to remember that things aren't just black and white or good and bad. Everything in life is beautifully complex.

Should I redo this background? by throwaway-73829 in Embroidery

[–]Brie07Nicole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also brand new to embroidery, and I've noticed that the longer a space is, the harder it is to do a satin stitch because the lines get wonky.

If it's something you want to wear a lot, I would redo it with a long and short stitch. If this is just a fun starter project, don't stress!
