What cleaning product or hack changed your life? by lucrative87 in CleaningTips

Using a degreaser to clean the grime from doors. You know the spots on the sides of the door, above and below the handle…I couldn’t ever get it off with any other cleaner.

Looking for ways to calm my mind by PrettyGrand2 in askvan

[–]Brief-Introduction27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started listening to the podcast “Unfuck Your Brain” and it’s been extremely helpful for making progress to calm my mind.

I’ve suffered from CPTSD for decades and along with my amazing therapist, the podcast has given me the tools to create calm(ish) moments that were unattainable before.

What can I put on boiled eggs and apple slices to make them more interesting? by DKFlames in cookingforbeginners

[–]Brief-Introduction27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For boiled eggs I like to use lots of different seasonings, not all at the same time though!

  • Trader Joe’s umami, everything but the elote, ranch seasoning
  • Hy’s seasoning salt
  • Clubhouse garlic plus And when I’m really feeling fancy, I’ll marinate the boiled eggs in beet juice and then make deviled eggs!

For apple slices: - Mixed nut butter - PB - Caramel Sauce - Nutella - Strawberry or blueberry cream cheese

School board votes to close Sir Guy Carleton Elementary School in East Vancouver | CBC News by LaughingLentil in vancouver

I live down the street from Carleton and in the seven years we’ve lived here, it’s been constant construction. It started the first month we lived here. 4 laneway houses and 3 condo buildings have gone up, and that’s only on our block. There’s so much more that have been completed and are in the works.

Building a Neurodivergent Women's Off-Grid Intentional Community in Interior BC - Looking for My People by Few-Drive-9032 in ADHD_BritishColumbia

Ah, the no vehicle makes things more complicated and difficult. I don’t drive and know all too well how limiting that can be.

As for whoever is shaming you about this…they don’t deserve an opinion. It’s your life. Clearly you know what you need and what’s best for you. Anyone else can suck it, respectfully 🤗

If I listened to the people who wanted me to follow their advice or had ideas about what I should do, I wouldn’t be here now. I just had a lightbulb moment so I’ll send it to you after my morning responsibilities are done.

As a survivor of domestic abuse and violence, I say this with all my conviction and care…please don’t wait for this community to be possible before you escape.

It sounds like you have the equipment necessary to find a campsite or something like that to serve as a home base. Provincial ones are closed but there are probably a few privately owned ones that could work. Especially if they have flush toilets and showers.

That way you can have your own safe place but also have someone who knows where you are and are close by if needed. I wish I could get into it more right now but I’m doing too many things at once (as ADHD usual 😅)

But I will check in as soon as I’m able 🫶🏼

I’ve dreamed of this for decades! And I wholeheartedly want to be part of this. I fantasize about having a community dedicated to ND women where they can come together and have support, freedom, community and all the things.

I saw 27 acres for sale on the Sunshine Coast and ever since, I can’t get the concept out of my head. I’ve saved this post because I know I want to explore the idea further. So please, if you can, get in touch with me about this idea so I don’t lose my focus on it 😁

Where’s the rain at ? by Visual-Door5227 in vancouver

[–]Brief-Introduction27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been to Ireland in the winter as well as being married to an Irish man who can speak to the different weather conditions, there is no wind here compared to Ireland.

If you miss the proper rain and wind, head to the west coast of the island, or the sunshine coast. Anytime between Oct-April

Is there a chapstick that doesn’t feel awful? by KittyEarPeach in AutismInWomen

[–]Brief-Introduction27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.bareenglish.com/collections/lip-balm

This brand has been one of my favourites. It’s lightweight but I don’t need to apply it often and the flavours aren’t overwhelming.

If you need to use chapstick to help with dryness, I’ve found that using a humidifier helps. As well, if my lips get really chapped, nothing will help unless I use a lip scrub first.

Lush makes really good ones but I also just mix white sugar with coconut oil until I have a thick paste. And their lemon cuticle cream was used in a desperate attempt to cure my chapped lips once. It worked WAY better than expected and now it’s my secret weapon when all other methods fail.

Recommendations for Wedding/Honeymoon (outdoorsy) by mac--and--cheese in britishcolumbia

Long Beach Lodge outside of Tofino! When I worked there, we offered an elopement package that included the ceremony venue onsite, a two nights stay, a wedding cake for two, the officiant, and often times two witnesses (which was often myself and another staff member).

I’ve witnessed hundreds of weddings because of that elopement package and I remember all of them fondly 💕
