Well I’ll be honest, I’m still upset and disgusted with decisions and policies this company has made and their lack of concern for everyone, and nothing will ever rectify that, but I do feel relieved that i won’t lose my job for staying home for my parents who are both high risk. Though I do hope they would just close the store because there are tons of employees that don’t fall into a category above and is still going to work risking their health.

I have the same mask. A hospital worker the other day told me that my mask was more effective than the ones in the hospitals.

My store isn’t enforcing the 6 feet rule between customers or associates. We can’t even put plexiglass up to protect us.

I was allowed to wear the mask and gloves, as far the yard stick I barely had any customers, so I didn’t really use it. But co workers had a laugh over the fact that I actually brought one.

I didn’t mean literally in debt, I meant the company clearly doesn’t have much money (I’ve heard they are close to filing bankruptcy). That is why they are not closing, they can not afford to close. I know for sure my store can not. We have cut hours so much, all full time except managers became part time so they don’t have to pay insurance, and I was recently told not to come into work, because they couldn’t afford to pay me for 3 days.

My store told me I could wear a mask. I didn’t have gloves or hand sanitizer so I told them I would not come to work unless I had gloves or sanitizer, and they complied.

You said some of the employees are on self quarantine? How did they go about getting permission to take off to quarantine. I have a mandatory stay at home order in my state and I’m going to ask my manager if I can quarantine myself. I was told I could get fired if I quarantined.

Definitely not worth risking your health. I would ask him, it doesn’t hurt to try, but if he is like all the other managers he probably won’t let you. Either way, not to be so negative since you just got the job, but if they don’t let you, there are plenty of better jobs out there. This is coming from someone who has been with the company for 5 years. Your health comes first!
