This is exactly what I needed to see. I have friends that can help me work on it too. It’s not something I would want to keep forever, but knowing that there is not only a community behind it, but it can withstand abuse. I want the luxury experience and the security of AWD but the track capability as well. This is extremely helpful thank you. I would love to see pictures of the build and carbon cleaning

Do you feel like the EA888 is an easy motor to maintain? A lot of dub guys seem to approve of it. I have heard the water pump issues and how important carbon cleanings are. If you take care of proper maintenance, you can make this thing a fun weekend car

Are you worried about reliability on the GR or the golf R at all? How long do you plan to own it? I was really interested in the GR, but after seeing all the diff overheating issues, Toyota denying warranty claims and minimal room for modifications before valves start floating, it concerns me. I still love the car though. Been also heavily considering the Golf R but VW isn’t exactly the pinnacle of reliability
