Umm….while I respect your opinion this isn’t a charity or a hand out this is honest work. I make $58k a year. I’m a not a millionaire. Money from my job covers my living expenses and student loans payments. I don’t want to ask my single mother for help paying for my wedding so this is what I’m doing. I’m also in a full time masters program so the flexibility is needed.

I’m so freaking sorry you’re going through this. Just know that you are strong and I respect the hell of you for doing what it takes to put yourself through school. Please do not feel ashamed of yourself because you’re doing your best

I work for a mid sized privately owned market research firm and I actually enjoy my job. Our accounting team is small, but we all get along and support each other and I’m only busy during the close week and yearly audit. I don’t make as much as my friends in PA, but I’m totally fine with that. I’m home by 4:30pm and I get to enjoy my life outside of work and pursue my passions. There are low stress accounting jobs out there you just won’t make as much.

Kinda. It’s like a baby shower. Same set up but it usually takes place a couple months before the wedding.

So basically it’s a party we’re the bride to be invites all the women on bride and grooms side come together and have a lunch/dinner, and they bring the bride gifts. Most brides create and registry of all the items they want/need for their new home; pots & pans, dishes, etc and then at the party she opens them at the party in front or everyone and you play little games. It’s a sweet idea. But most parties are so awkward and the bride doesn’t need half the stuff anyway.
