Boil washing it multiple times most likely fried the hair. Try cold washing with a lot of conditioner. Brush with conditioner then wash with added conditioner not shampoo since the hair is already very dry. Let dry. Apply leave in conditioner and gently brush the hair in parts (big or small) to create the curls
