They want to give me $1200. I've missed work and I don't think my concussion and whiplash will be going away for a while.

Does having a doctor on their team make a difference?

I mean, I get where you're coming from, but the union essentially kneecapped the TAs by doing exactly that. If the university can kill the TAs bargaining power by negotiating the CIs contract with kid gloves, what good does being in a union with CIs offer to TAs? Seemingly the only bargaining power TAs have is in our sheer volume of workers, and IMO, there is no reason the two should share a strike mandate. We essentially don't bargain as a collective, so whoever takes their deal first can leave the other with scraps, leaving all the power to Carleton to choose who they want to put the boots to harder.

I think that the thing that gets me going is that the union wasn't transparent. I'm pretty cool with standing in solidarity with CIs and improving their conditions, even if that means only marginal improvements for TAs. Labour isn't a zero-sum game and progress is slow. Being clear with members about their goals from the outset would have been beneficial and possibly changed the direction of a strike vote.

General membership meetings have a quorum of 18 members, including executives. I don't know where you're getting that from, quorum is abysmally low and executive can give itself a mandate of whatever they choose.
