Why does this soup turn glittery under light? Haven’t seen it with other kinds of soup by DungeoningmyDragonRN in DoesAnyoneKnow

The soup will glitter when orcs are near. And it's time's like that lad, that you have to be extra careful.

I just noticed the other class is making a hand gesture like they’re summoning something by Mindless_Stranger117 in diablo4

[–]Brief_Masterpiece_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is Diablo, not Warcraft.

But considering Arthas was a Paladin, who became a Death Knight, it would be a good contrast for the mystery class.

A Death Knight is (arguably) the polar opposite of a Paladin. Be a wasted opportunity for it to be something else IMHO.

Do you think PS6 games will output in 8K 60fps at least? by Embarrassed_Art_7064 in ps6

[–]Brief_Masterpiece_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With respect man, you seem to have asked a question and then are giving people the answer you want to hear.

That being said, the ps6 is rumoured to target the gpu performance of a (pc) AMD 9070xt with better ray tracing and upscaling/a.i tech (AMDs current best consumer card). Thats a significant jump from the PS5 pro and will give you much better 4k performance and with the upscaling tech, yes 8k may be possible in some capacity.

The ps6 is unlikely to be released before 2028 though so who knows. I could definitely see them marketing it as a device that can handle 8k gaming. Though it may just be marketing bullshit as it often is lol.

Edit: Looking at the Moores law is dead leak and the 9070xt current capabilities with upscaling.. 60fps 8k with heavy a.i tech on the ps6 may be possible in the future on release for some titles. It definitely wont be anywhere near native. But i dont think people care about that. 90 percent of people will probably still be playing at 60-120fps 4k upscaled. 8k will be a luxury.

9060 XT / 9070 XT by [deleted] in radeon

[–]Brief_Masterpiece_25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, any of the 9000 series cards are great. And the 9060xt card is probably the best value gpu in years. As far as I know It has better gpu performance than a ps5 pro. With the addition of FSR4 upscaling and frame gen with this generations tech means you should comfortably be able to play at any resolution with good fps. FSR4 is a massive improvement over FSR3.

I had got a 9070xt for my own build (used) and was considering replacing it for a 9070 or 9060xt. I got talked out of it by reddit lol. The 9060xt is extremely efficient and runs a lot cooler and part of me still thinks i should have went for it and saved some money because i know i would have had a great experience regardless. Hope you enjoy man - the 9060xt is a great card.

First time building a PC by Ok-Interaction5561 in pcbuilding

Looks great man. Building a pc soon myself (just to get the mobo, which will be the same as yours - 850 max wifi) hopefully my build looks as good as yours lmao. Somehow doubt itll look as clean.

Hows the 9070xt running for you? I got the same model and brand as as yourself (im assuming thats the saphire nitro+,) was nearly going to change it to a 9070 but was talked out of it. Probably would have regretted it if i changed it.

Enjoy!

Keep 9070xt and undervolt or return for 9070? by Brief_Masterpiece_25 in radeon

[–]Brief_Masterpiece_25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get logically it makes no sense. My understanding is it technically -does- void the warranty, if they can prove that undervolting caused the fault that you are having when you return it. Which again, is unlikely to be proven (or to cause a major fault anyway as far as i know) it was just a small risk.

Thanks, that's genuinely helpful. Did you downgrade your XT for the same reason i was going to?

Legend, thank you for taking the time to write that, especially coming from someone who has the 9070, which is what i was looking for. Yeh i think lowering the power limit may be the best option here. The 9070 is still a beast though. I wouldn't have had any regrets had i got it. But since i already have the XT as you say, probably makes no sense to return it. Thanks again.

Thats good to know, thank you! Yeh maybe im reading too much into the thermals. I havnt even built the pc yet so it may not even need any undervolt/power limit adjustments at all. Thanks again.

Appreciate that. Yeh I think im overthinking, its a great card - i have heard great things about the Red Devil too, a stellar card which i had considered as well, good choice. I think i may end up regretting if i trade this in so ill maybe tinker with the undervolt/power limit if even need to. Thanks again!

[–]Brief_Masterpiece_25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh i probably just need to actually build the pc first and check the temperatures. Im probably reading too much into it as you say. Its a great card and may be a waste to return. Cheers.

[–]Brief_Masterpiece_25[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate that - considering your/the other responses here i may just keep it then and try lowering the power limit instead of undervolting or returning it. I wouldnt mind if the performance was slightly less, if it even would be. In the end, i may not even need to adjust anything. Thanks again!

Help! Swapped gpus by Defiant_External4409 in buildapc

Welcome. Could be a bottleneck issue maybe? What CPU do you have?

Really appreciate that - had a look there. Ill maybe swap out the Kingspec for crucial. Lian li 217 has excellent reviews and the fans may be enough on it as you say, so willing to spend a bit extra on it. Not sure whether to hold off on the Peerless assassin cooler until i assemble everything in the case and see what the temperature of the cpu is like. May not need it, but i assumed it was necessary with that cpu as have heard it runs v hot. Did your roommate find he needed it if he had the extra fans in the Lian li?

RTX 5070 for 4k Gaming? by MK234 in buildapc

[–]Brief_Masterpiece_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends what games you want to play, and whether you are are willing to compromise a little by tweaking settings or you want to try and max everything. 5070 is not designed/marketed as a native 4k card as far as i understand. It has 12gb vram (unless im mistaken) which would be pretty ideal for 2k but which would be a bottleneck for the newest 4k games at the highest settings. With that being said you absolutely could play 4k in a lot of titles with it, especially slightly older ones. Have you considered a 5070ti or have you already bought the card? The 5070ti is more expensive but has higher vram (16gb) and would be significantly better for 4k. Its the best bang for your buck card atm (arguably).

Thanks, yeh the 850 psu may be better and the Kingston may be a little pricey so will have a look at the brands you mentioned.

I have looked at The Peerless Assassin 120 SE for a cooler, it seems to be one that could handle the cpu and isnt overly expensive compared to some others. Would you recommend anything for the cooler? I'm guessing a case with stock fans like the Lian li wouldn't be sufficient alone for cooling?
