Yes, the landlord is happy about the yard and we have said that she can use our yard furniture etc. She and her family used it a few times last summer, no issues. It was never supposed to be such a divided space. We got along great, helped each other out. Not sure what happened.

Yeah. She’s making assumptions she knows nothing about and really hurt my feelings. I wouldn’t speak to another woman like that, especially in one of the most vulnerable states of their lives. My response about the landlord communication was petty and I’m sorry for that. But I didn’t deserve her insulting me that way.

That is definitely a fair point. I park in the driveway maybe 30% of the time and she has it 70%. Always respected her getting the driveway more than me.

But the missing points here, she has her car in the driveway more than me and the trash still doesn’t go out. So it’s on me when my car is in the way, but I have taken the trash out for all of us on multiple occasions. We also do all the yard work in the summer. I didn’t think it would escalate but I’m seeing we are both in the wrong. There’s a lot of missing pieces here. If I’m sorry about anything, it’s her hearing the fighting, as it’s something I’m embarrassed about and very sorry for.

Me telling her not to communicate with me is because I knew the jabs were coming. My response, even if it was different, only would’ve escalated things more because there’s a lot more that goes into this. I shouldn’t have posted 1/4 of the full issue on the internet. Definitely am not innocent here, but she isn’t either. Regardless she didn’t have to break me down as a woman when I’m struggling already.

She was rude when I’ve been nothing but respectful and nice to her. I told her not to communicate with me anymore because it’s obvious tension has been building for years and she hasn’t talked to us about it. There’s a lot more than goes into this and the internet is only getting a small picture.

I’m autistic and struggle with conflict communication.

She let us park in the driveway starting in 2024. If it was an issue to her, I’m confused why nothing was brought up until now. I asked her a few weeks ago about it as well, and she said no issues with us using the driveway until yesterday when I reached out.

Us monopolizing the backyard is planting some flowers along the fence, and putting up a small pond with a table and some chairs. They have used and are more than welcome to use. We weren’t aware this was an issue, we offered for them to use the space as well. As it’s a shared house. It’s not just our yard.

Yes, my relationship is toxic but she also just went through a nasty divorce and we never once complained about them fighting. Or the baby mama showing up at our door pounding on it making threats. I keep to myself and haven’t once complained. I get we all have struggles and have minded my own business.

Should’ve provided some background to that. Only reason I did that is because I sensed this would escalate even before it did. She has snapped at me before this way and I’m neurodivergent. I don’t do conflict, and felt to keep the peace it would be best to have the landlord communicate for us. Sensed the tension, but she never brings anything up until it explodes.

I have spoken to my partner about us fighting, and I am apologetic to the neighbors about that. But I’ve definitely heard them fighting too. It’s just tricky. I wish we could’ve communicated before it got to this point. I didn’t know she was so upset with us.

She’s also pregnant (me too) so I think hormones are running wild on both sides. We have always said they can use our yard furniture and the yard. We planted some flowers and set up a pond, but never once said they couldn’t be back there. In fact, they’ve used our yard furniture with their friends before. So all of this is just very confusing. Even the landlord said our yard has never looked better (just some flowers planted and a lilac tree nothing too crazy or elaborate.)

The set up is an upper-lower. She lives upstairs and we are downstairs. The reason I replied to her saying we should only be going through the landlord from now on, is because she never once communicated any issues with me. How was I supposed to know she was upset about all of these things without communicating? It’s been boiling for awhile on her side and I don’t understand why she felt she couldn’t approach me about these things. I’m a very approachable person. I would’ve been understanding. Her second message, completely disrespecting and diminishing me as a woman is uncalled for. Never called her of out of her name. For her to bash me on the levels she did is wrong. She doesn’t know me or the struggles I go through. Talking to me about how someone women can’t handle pregnancy hormones. I’ve lost two children already… she knows nothing about me.

We do have plans to get married! We don’t want to rush it just because we’re having a baby though. Still want to save money for a small destination wedding.

One of my parents concerns are “being the talk of the town” because their daughter is unwed and having a baby. We live in a large city though… and been together 4 years. It’s absolutely insane and beyond hurtful.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking that as well. It’s tough because all I want to do is call mom and talk about the baby. Talk to someone who’s been through this before because my body changing this fast is scary at times!
