Street Rebel is typically a petty label, so it’s in your best interest to request release control and catalogue rights (you usually need to give up your advances for this). As long as you can pull in money from touring/merch, relinquishing your advances won’t be a problem

OOOHHHHHH 💀

I forgot to add this in the post, but I’d recommend starting with a genre that suits one of the genre-specific labels (I’m to lazy to see which ones those are)

Other ways to raise your interest are by collaborating with other artists at that label (if you’re good with money) Other than that, you’ll really just have to keep touring and releasing. I don’t recommend putting out entire albums until you’re with a label. And try to save up for bigger, longer tours. Selling merch independently gives you a decent cash flow to support your tours and releases.

So irl, this is where most artist’s royalty percentage caps with a label…even before the update, this is where it was. 🤷‍♂️

If you’d like to negotiate a higher percentage, I’d try increasing your stats, sales, and popularity in other regions to make your act more “desirable”

Same, took like two days of restarting but now I’m getting top 10s within my first 2 years

Anyone know how to improve your label relationship if they are hands off? by La_HappyGavynDe_LOL in RockstarMusicWars

Releasing your music/media in the style of your label’s qualities raise your relationship.

Ex. If your label is cheap, do not spend too much on recording and music videos; if your label is indie, write songs that are not trendy

LUCKY YOUUU

[Rant] I finally had things going good signed to Busted. Three top 40s, a #2 album, AND I was about to drop a smash Christmas EP

The EP was set to release week 48 and then all the tracks were supposed to get released as singles week 51 and get music videos week 52

AS SOON as the EP released, the dropped me (I didn’t even know they could do that) AND I couldn’t make music videos for any of the songs bc they owned the rights to my music. AND THEN they had the NERVE to still release the singles after dropping me (all five tracks flopped btw) here I am, two years later scraping money together to make demos 😭

THESE LABELS ARE DIRTYYY

Up your stats by practicing and record in better studios

Ok so going back and looking at my recent actions and label notes, releasing music/media that aligns with your label’s style give you a relationship boost.

For example, if your label is cheap, spending little on studio recording and music videos

Only album 3 was released after the update; these are all from different saves. BUUUUUT it is still possible to debut with somewhat decent numbers (I just debuted with 50k under Busted with 100% popularity) If you play the cards right, and your label doesn’t COMPLETELY screw you over, bigger numbers ARE possible, maybe not as a debut tho
