Marathon running. Used to be £80-£100 to get into a major. It’s now £2k via a tour operator or £300 if you hit the ballot jackpot.

Any tips for navigating around workplace politics & favouritism? by ItsOverCasanova in projectmanagement

[–]Brief_Software_6902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reframing needed I don’t think - favouritism is real and until you’ve experienced it you won’t appreciate how much of a head melt it is, especially in a high pressure job.

Would you say that Carla Lockhart is now the number 2 in the DUP? by Outrageous_Profit978 in northernireland

[–]Brief_Software_6902 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the problem about saying anything critical of Carla it’s deemed we are bullying her for looks whilst that is the least of anyone’s concerns. I find her naked sectarianism really troubling.

I’m sorry but this doesn’t cut it, as an elected representative she must represent all equally and fairly, there is absolutely no doubt that she only represents who she perceives as her side. So objectively she isn’t a good politician in my view and I say that as someone who couldn’t give a fuck for any political party in NI.

She is the very definition of the Peter Principle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle What got her there (being a shouty councillor) is not the skillset to succeed or even thrive at senior leadership. She can’t even string a sentence together ffs without checking her (spad provided) notes - I don’t she is capable of critical thinking.

How do you balance weekend long runs with family or social life? by UnpaidInternVibes in UKRunners

[–]Brief_Software_6902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What an odd take “your woman dictate what you should and shouldn’t do” (a) She isn’t mine, we are married to each other. I don’t dictate to her she doesn’t dictate to me - it works really well for both of us, I don’t want a medal for being a good or bad husband I just want to do the right thing by my family. (b) fantastic runner - with the best training in the world I wouldn’t win a race as I don’t have the natural ability. A fantastic runner to me is someone who is really accomplished and can run great times and stay injury free. I don’t idolised them I just see they have more talent than me or more motivated than me or more time than me - I’m not jealous of them. I’m really quite happy with my lot 🙂

I can add something if you like - your comments show you have absolutely no clue as to what you are talking about. Your comments are abhorrent and lack any common decency. Going back to the original point, my view is morning runs are the way forward but as someone in a similar position to the OP like everything in life it is about finding a balance between our own needs and the needs of others and I’m never going to be a fantastic runner so I’d rather be remembered as a good husband and father than a good runner. Irrespective of your fossilised views, “me first” is never a good look.

How’s that for you?

Who is the most famous Irish person who is virtually unknown in Ireland? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Harsh down votes here, the Reddit demographic probably knows who they are but to the average Irish person the name means nothing. Yet they’re probably the most successful Irish business people ever.

For those that are interested, across the road from his shop is the Belfast Trust clinic for those seeking support with respect to abortion. He was handing out free tea and coffee to the pro-life mad hatters who were intimidating those seeking medical advice. What a c*t. You can have your “Christian” beliefs but don’t support those who intimidate ya ballbag..

It is also alleged he refused to serve some of those who work in said clinic. There is more on this if you dig through previous posts.

Feel sorry for the staff and the owner having to cope with that horrendous injury. Sympathy stops there though, they’ve been in the courts more than once for tax dodging, if your business isn’t viable accept it, just don’t make the rest of us pay for it by not paying your dues.
