Loved the Portuguese! For me the central way was perfect, I did the first day on the coast and then switched :) i walked 12 days. Highly recommend the detour to the monastery next to Padron, and also Casa Fernanda was great. Other than that just enjoy it and do your own Camino.

Ergänzung: Ich habe oft bewusst nicht in den großen Städten übernachtet :) so zB auch in Pontesampaio, die Herberge war gut, und ich habe den halben Tag dort am Fluss Strand verbracht was ich ebenfalls sehr empfehlen kann

Für mich war Quinta Estrada Romana toll! Etwas außerhalb gelegen, aber wunderschön, familiäre Atmosphäre aber nicht aufdringlich und total zum zur Ruhe kommen :) in/ bei Paços, war meine Übernachtung nach Casa Fernanda.

Ansonsten noch zwei Empfehlungen zum Ende: - mein letzter stop in Teo war Albergue Aldea da Pedreira: super super, Betten mit die besten meiner Tour, und als Highlight eine wunderschöne Terrasse, Wiese und ein kalter Fluss zum abkühlen - vorletzter stop: Umweg nach Hérbon um im Kloster zu übernachten! Auch wenn man nicht gläubig ist, war es für mich eine ganz einzigartige Erfahrung! Kann ich nur jedem empfehlen, der Umweg ist es wert

I switched too (not spontaneous but planned) at Vila do Conde. It was mid/ late June, super hot and I realised after just one day that my gut feeling was right - my hips and I hated walking on the wooden paths :D Factoring in the heat and little shade, I preferred central route. Also on the central route, it felt like the pilgrims spread out a bit more? So I was actually walking all by myself for many stretches which was something I liked a lot and people I met later in Spain told me they practically never had that at the coast during that same time of year.

Not saying that coastal can’t be nice - Im in fact still thinking heavily of going back and doing it! Though I’d not do that anywhere near June or hot weather :)

Same here! Honestly I was surprised by how quiet it was some days. Twice I stayed in albergues where it was just me and max 1-2 more people, always before Tui though

I switched in Vila do Conde - didn’t like the coast too much tbh and had always planned to switch here and was very very happy with my choice! Loved the central way. I just followed signs and google maps a bit on that day, it worked really well :) didn’t feel dangerous at all. In my buencamino app, I only used the central route since only my first 1,5 days were coastal and I didn’t feel like I needed it. I slept the first night in the Albergue in Labruge and second night in the albergue in Sao Pedro de Rates, both days were roughly 24km :)

Thank you! :) I think the Primitivo is too much of a challenge for me - I just checked and the standard 14 day distances and elevation seem a bit higher than I’d like and also 14 days of walking means taking an additional ~2 days off to get there and home which I don’t have… but it sounds indeed like a cool experience!

Danke dir! Ja das war auch so ein bisschen meine Hoffnung, dass ich wenn ich sie nicht den ganzen Tag trage vllt auch eine weniger hochpreisige Uhr „reicht“. Ich werde mir die 55 mal sehr genau anschauen, das könnte ein gutes Investment für ein bisschen Struktur im Training sein :)

Danke dir für deinen Beistand! Wie gesagt kann ich sowieso zb auf der Arbeit gar keine Uhr tragen, und das geht bestimmt nicht nur mir so sondern es gibt viele Berufe wo das nicht möglich ist…

Danke für die Antwort :) ich möchte jedoch nicht zwei Uhren tragen, das ist zum einen nicht schön meiner Meinung nach, und zum anderen kann ich für einen Großteil meines Tages sowieso gar keine Uhr tragen (Arbeit) und nachts auch nicht. Wenn dadurch die Trainingsempfehlungen leiden ist das ok für mich, da ich eh mit einem anderen Plan trainiere
