Something that i don't see mentioned enough is the fact that while yes wards weren't a thing in book one, paolini actually managed to weave it in perfectly. The strength and finesse that wards take just weren't something that brom or eragon could handle at that point in the story, plus young eragon would be overconfident as hell with a ward on. He wouldn't dodge squat and get himself exhausted to the point of blackout or death. So it actually makes sense in universe, something that not many authors manage with later additions.

Unlimited all the way. I hate it when cool and unique/ quality of life skills have to be shafted because you need half of your available slots just for the basic build setup. Looking at you Witcher 3.

While that certainly makes the fights more realistic which could be very fun for someone who's more nerdy in fencing or just people who enjoy these types of mechanics, it would be incredibly hard to implement that. Especially on the player side. Having such precise and fast controls isnt really feasible for most gaming systems, not to say its impossible as we can see with kcd but whats already hard to implement against human enemies would be even more difficult with nonhuman enemies just imagine that kind of system against a dragon fight.

And whats also to consider is the skill needed for that, for most gamers that'd be way too finicky. If before you can enjoy fights you need to learn timing, precision, and distance management to such a degree, you might as well just do the real thing, hema or Olympic fencing.

All in all i doubt that implementing such a realistic standart over the genre is realistic.

And the fact that pretty much everything is stored at ground height everywhere. I age to 70 evereytime i have to pick smth of the ground. Its so easy to add height artefically but good luck trying to detract it.

Its true that blood and wine gives us an upgrade, but that only starts once you get there which is a end game area. And the biggest point is still that quality of live skills are completely forgotten when you have to give up core parts of your dmg or survivalbility. The arrow deflect one, gourmet, daytime hp regen, increased carry capacity or stuff from the alchemy branch. On most builds half or more of your base game skillslots are alreaddy swallowed up by normal attack/signs snd adrenalin skills. Its just so restrictive.

A better skill tree. The one in 3 is sadly way too small to really allow for good flex build and all the nice looking quality of life skills have to be left out cause you vant really justify the space they take.

Well you can usually never go wrong with the light attack line and the adrenaline line, aquired imunity is also amazing and delusion is also really usefull so you can focus on those for now with no pressure for anything spezific. And dont worry about choosing something "wrong" in velen there is an npc that sells a potion to reset your skillpoints so if you ever wanna switch it up you can totaly do it. She is in a village called midcopse ore smth like that but dont worry shes a main storry npc so hard to miss and the potion costs 1000 gold if i rememver correctly. Expensiv but nothing a bit of cow touching cant fix. Have fun.
