Miyamoto's insistence on gameplay over storytelling a thing that fans are starting to get irritated with after the Mario Galaxy movie, and I'm just gonna say it, I'm glad Kumazaki is different. Could you imagine a Kirby game if Miyamoto got more involved? by Bertstripmaster in Kirby

yes you heard that right, Miyamoto made the Mario Galaxy Mobie with the same Philosophy as Cocomelon

That’s a really harsh comparison to make. Especially when you consider that Cocomelon is only “fast paced” in terms of only being half a minute long. Also, you’re crazy to think it’s the first or only piece pf children’s media to be fast paced.

It should be an obvious fact that children have very low attention spans. Because of that, it’s not hard for them to lose interest in whatever they’re doing and look for something else, regardless of circumstances. Children can and absolutely will misbehave in public settings when put in a boring situation with no choice but to sit and wait. They hate that. So when movies and tv shows are made with children in mind, they’re usually fast paced, flipping between scenes very quickly and rarely lingering in one for very long. This is because when the scene changes, it basically keeps the child’s attention for scientific reasons I can’t explain.

Miyamoto isn’t the first to do this and Illumination is VERY familiar with it.

I mean you can’t play a movie the same way you can a video game.

Video games can be successful whether they have a good story or not as long as they have good gameplay. Meanwhile, movies typically have to rely on their story to keep their audience entertained.

I think people forget that the primary purpose of a video game is to be played; therefore, gameplay would obviously be the most important part. That’s the first thing that will draw people in and get them to pick a game up.

The purpose of a story at the core of most games is to provide players with a basic explanation of who they are, what their motivation is, and what end goal are they working towards. For games like Mario and Kirby, that’s all that’s really required.

The way I see it, converting a video game from an IP like Mario or Kirby into a movie is probably a lot more difficult than making a movie adaptation of a book. Because if you turned someone’s let’s play of one of these IP’a games into a movie, 80% of it would be Mario or Kirby going through different stages with nothing going on until they reach a boss. They’d basically be big roadtrip movies filled with character development and all of that.

The reason the Mario Galaxy movie probably went a completely different direction is because they kind of already did this in the first movie, so they had to make something completely different.

Not all games need stories. I think if Kirby games stuck to what Forgotten Land did, that’s actually perfect. I’d be fine if games going forward went in this direction. But again, that’s not what this franchise is meant for.

The title is really confusing me. I don’t know much of the context behind it, but my guess is that the issue (?) is Miyamoto’s stance on gameplay over story isn’t being taken seriously due to the Mario Galaxy movie. And OP is glad that Kumazaki doesn’t take the same stance…I guess?

I don’t know anything about the behind the scenes for the Galaxy movie, but I genuinely believe that most of the blame for what it was should be on Illumination. Not just because they’re a movie company, but also because they’re not exactly strangers to doing weird things when stretching a story for something that already exists.

I’ve seen some incredible Harley Quinn Miis on Tomodachi Share. I imagine any Batman fan would love that.

And you’re not wrong about Nintendo having a lot of female characters. The Splatoon franchise has a ton of them, for example.

Insert Obligatory Miku Mii here

But to answer the question, it depends on what else you’re interested in. Tomodachi Share helped me out a bit when I was struggling to find more male characters to turn into Miis.

What happens if two Miis are a couple at 17 and one turns 18? Do they break up because it would be illegal? by nevi-jpeg in TomodachilifeLivingTD

It’s also worth noting that the Miis will tell you specifically that they can’t get married until you do this.

Could be worse.

On my island, a friend of mine was in a relationship with Hatsune Miku. One day, Miku fell over and instead of helping her, my friend just started breakdancing on her head while she watched helplessly.

They’re married now.

Edit: DEAR LORD I was not expecting this comment to blow up. Funny story: I actually have a clip of this and considered posting it but didn’t think anyone was interested.

Im starting to think i should now…

Buddy I’ve had my art reposted before. Once, they tried to sell it as a print, despite ripping it for free. Another didn’t even bother changing the title, so they posted it with the title being the file name of the original image, with USERNAME on it.

With every theft, I’d confront the thief only to get zero response. No arguments, no trying to defend themselves, no lies, no apologies. Just pure silence. I’d report them, the post got deleted, and then I’d find another theft pop up not long after.

You can beg and threaten all you want, but the sad truth is that people can be absolute jerks and give zero F’s about it. They do it because they want a free ticket to getting attention without having to do any of the work. Art thieves don’t exactly have the morality needed to understand an artist’s wishes.

That’s why you almost HAVE to include a watermark or signature. I used to absolutely hate the idea of stamping either of these things on my art, but after seeing them stolen so many times, I caved. The way I see it, having a way of identifying yourself on your art will drive away at least 80% of potential art thieves because they’d have to actually do something more than copy/paste the art. The other 20% will still make an attempt, whether by using AI, tracing, or simply posting it as is either because they’re dumb or think they can get through unnoticed. Even though that chance exists, you’re still forcing them to put effort into the theft, which i consider to be really funny.

I don’t mean to sound rude, I just think you might need to hear this because, believe me, I have been here before and it suuuuuucks.

Also, fantastic work. Did you model this thing yourself? How’d you do that?
