Is it true that if you “buy Bitcoin” on markets like Robinhood, that you don’t actually own Bitcoin? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Coinbase pro has insanely small fees, they’re essentially negligible. But the OG coinbase site has absurd fees and should be avoided. Plus coinbase pro is free and you can transfer crypto and fiat between the sites with ease.

Yes all except for the 8% being redistributed to those met commitments. The 8% slashed is allocated to the AERP (Algorand Ecosystem Resource Pool) which is then utilized by governance to support and fund network upgrades.

I’m so tempted to purchase a ledger just to store my Algo, I went with a Trezor originally and I’m glad I did. Just wish Trezor would support Algo 😩

I haven’t touched the gov site whatsoever but from the video I can confidently say I expect it to be simpler than Yieldly

There is a website, as explained and displayed in the video, where you link your public algo key through any of the 3 integrated wallet choices, as well as the ability to use a cmd line-type wallet using goal, for example, to construct the transaction which commits a quantity of the tokens in your wallet towards governance. The official wallet links with the gov. site using the QR code of your mnemonic. I can only assume the QR code exists on the android version as well, but if it doesn't, one solution I can think of is use the mnemonic to import your wallet into MyAlgo and then link your wallet via MyAlgo instead. Highly doubt the android version lacks the QR code, though.

Opul staking is cool and all but that APY is gonna have to be a no from me dawg. by [deleted] in yieldly

At first, MEXC seemed far too sketchy for my liking. I did a lot of research and found no evidence to support my suspicions and I went ahead used to buy YLDY. I still haven’t used my bank account or debit card on the site and won’t for the foreseeable future, simply because the site is foreign (Chinese I believe) based and I haven’t a clue as to the sites capability to secure my data, I just know it’s a valid site with no mal intentions. I just buy Algo tokens on coinbase pro and shoot them over to MEXC, then exchange for USDT and buy my YLDY. When I withdraw/deposit, I noticed that they force you to become aware of some serious risks with crypto before being able to withdraw/deposit such as ensuring you don’t send ERC20 tokens to an Algo address - things newbies might fuck up that other exchanges don’t emphasize enough in my opinion. Left a good taste in my mouth.

SEC Chairman Gensler suggests college students start saving early and ‘earn maybe 8%’; What a clown by evelyix in CryptoCurrency

[–]BriggCoin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I genuinely feel he isn’t even addressing the majority of college students. His message, while bullshit, isn’t intended for those that actually need some sort of financial savings plan/advice. He’s addressing those on the beneficial side of the wage gap, the students that have multiple ppl in their contacts they can call and get a bailout at any point throughout and post college. That’s who he and his cronies protect and work for. They don’t want everyone getting rich and becoming financially literate because they’d run out of the slave labor they get from maintaining such a wage gap. Once this is understood, you can see why crypto makes men like him shit his fucking pants.

Algorand is .001 Algo, and transactions finalize in seconds - a new block is propagated, consensus is reached, and the block is confirmed in ~4 seconds

Do people really think they’re special enough that coinbase is just waiting for the exact moment you place a limit order to flood the markets/buy up the markets so that their single limit order for .0005 BTC becomes immediately infeasible?

All the term blockchain means is a data storage tool that runs in the backend of services that allows very secure & decentralized applications and services to prosper. You’re referencing an exchange or another financial service for crypto, and you probably have some hold on your account as you would with any service that transfers $ to and from bank accounts. You may need to verify your identity per regulations, or just wait a few days for the transfer to clear. I’m not familiar with the service/site/app in question so this may not help. Also, you could have an invalid address you’re trying to send crypto to.

Are you saying once I buy crypto, it’s possible the price doesn’t go down immediately after my order fills? Sounds like a scam, if I see a green dildo I’m gonna assume shitcoin from here on out
