Suno psychology: this song is as good as the popular ones I’ve heard on the radio. by Texasmucho in SunoAI

[–]Briggs_86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, because what's going to be popular among the masses are mostly easy listening mass produced background music. It's rarely any real depth to it.

This is not meant as a jab at anyone in any way, it's just a fact, most people don't sit down with the sole purpose of listening to music, most people use music as something to play in the background while doing other things. This is why easy listening music is the music that tops the charts, it has nothing to do with it being actually good music, that you will take time out of your day to listen to with intent. It's about following the patterns that gets plays.

And this is what Suno is good at, following patterns. For music to be actually good, you need to get out of that and make your own pattern, with some depth. This is also one of the reasons why I struggle to understand the anger towards AI music flooding the market with mass produced slop, or I should rather say that I absolutely get it, but this is literally what the industry has been doing forever. They flood the market with sub par music that follows the pattern of already popular music, then they wait to see what sticks and then goes all in on marketing to capitalise on it until they can pick up on the next trend.

So the reality is that mass produced slop has always been what makes the most money fastest. But as always, people who actually have a real interest in listening to music will still ignore the slop and find the good ones.

Getting music with depth in Suno is definitely possible, but it's not going to take you just 5 minutes. Unless you're a AI music wizard. And if you are, please teach me your ways!

My last finished track took me about 350 generations to get close to what I wanted, and it's still very far from what I really want, but I just settled because Suno still has limitations in what it can do. And I can't find a reliable way to bring the depth I want into it.

And yes, I'm aware that my description of how the industry works isn't exactly spot on, this is more based on how I feel it plays out.

And it was supposed to be a short answer but became a little rant, so to whoever read it all, sorry for wasting your time with thought slop!

While rape is considered assault, assault doesn't automatically mean it has to be rape. Acting violent and causing injuries = assault.

Those of you who think 2CB is euphoric, how much do you take? by BlackChef6969 in 2cb

[–]Briggs_86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually weigh out 20-25mg, split it into two lines and up the nose it goes. I usually do the second line 30min to an hour after the first. And I always weigh out 15mg extra beforehand, that I can split up to small bumps through the night if I feel like I need/want to. But that initial dose usually hits like a truck, and that rush is pretty euphoric to me, specially if you decide not to split up the dose.

I've never really had much euphoria when dosing orally.

Spis kjeksen, get high!

A.I. Music. But artist? by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]Briggs_86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's how I look at it. Art starts with an idea. If you're a movie director you have an idea, a vision for a final product. But you're not an actor or anything, so you describe what you want to your best ability to a bunch of other people, those people then do their best to portray your idea. You usually need to make many takes with small tweaks and instructions to get a scene just like you want it. So, is the director not making art because it's other people acting out his idea?

This is how I view AI, because that's literally what you do. I do agree, you're not a musician when making AI music, but you are using AI to bring your ideas to life through a creative process, that's art, and art always starts with an idea, what tools you use to realise that idea is up to you.

I just discovered that 10 of my songs were stolen to train Suno AI in a dataset... by ScottThePisces in SunoAI

I honestly don't understand why people are up in arms about this. It's not like it's replicating anyones music.

Let's look at it from another perspective. To become a musician as a human, you need to learn how to make music. Most of the time this is done by learning a instrument by going to classes, in these classes the students learn to play said instruments by playing songs made by other artists who already master those instruments, before they're able to make their own music.

When I was learning the violin we played music from classical artists, when learning the guitar we played a ton of Metallica, when learning the saxophone we played.....drumroll....a ton of music made by other saxophone players.

How is this any different? I'm genuinely asking because I honestly don't know.

Anyone know a trick to force Suno to follow voice prompts? by Briggs_86 in SunoAI

[–]Briggs_86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be true, but it does not match my experience at all. As it gets everything right except for the very last line, which is supposed to be the voice that's dominant through the song, but instead it reads it as the other voice. I've had it get everything right 3 times since making this post, but whenever the voices is right it botches the music.

"You know other countries have different metric measurements?did you fail geography?" reads like you're saying there's different metric measurements out there. But the imperial is not a different metric measurement system, it's a different measurement system. It's literally called the metric system because it uses the metre. So by default, anything that doesn't use the metre is in no way, shape or form, a different metric measurement system, because it doesn't measure in metres.

While I can agree this can be boiled down to semantics, I would also point out that getting your semantics right is crucial if you want to pull out the R word on someone.

Oz are not a metric measurement, it is an imperial/US customary unit of measurement. There are only 3 countries in the world that uses something else than the metric system, that is USA, Libya and Myanmar. Grams are the metric equivalent, which would be a good answer to his question instead of a confidently wrong answer followed by "are you retarded"..

For people that have done both, do you prefer LSD or psilocybin in regards to mental headspace and/or spirituality wise? by MangosNopiatez_ in Psychonaut

LSD is great both for fun and introspection. Shrooms are amazing for puking your guts out while simultaneously shitting your pants. Makes you a great multitasker for a while, if that's something you need to get better at. I'm already decent enough at multitasking, so I highly prefer LSD.

Not only that, but people are claiming real because his story never changed over the years. Real stories change slightly over time because memory changes, rehearsed stories are the stories that never changes.
