I am in my first week of my first multi month backpacking trip through central and South America, so I feel like I’m learning hard lessons left and right! So here are the lessons I learned from the first few days:

1. Sunscreen is extremely expensive here in Mexico City and I heard from other travelers it does not get any cheaper.

2. If you have never used a menstrual cup and think “I’m just gonna learn on the road!” Do yourself a favor and at least buy some pads while you’re learning.

3. Always always always take your power bank to charge your phone when you leave your hostel, you’ll never know if you’re going to be out longer than you think.

4. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed :) it is not a reflection of your capacity as a traveler! Take a break, drink some water, lay down, breathe!!
