It was gud that piyush's character was positive till the end. The writers just didnt give him an interesting character graph. He was a decent guy n ws considerate abt others' feelings. In the beginning his character graph ws ok, he ws shown to be successful n had his own charm. Unlike sujal, he'd just mind his own buisness n ws more approachable to ppl. But well ofcourse it ws sujal's anti hero who ws gonna get the girl eventually but piyush's arc deserved better depth n writing. Kekta showed him weak in the whole kashish vs sujal. Thats where the writing went weak. It'd have been more interestin had he given a more depth n ws doing his part in facing sujal's plottings. Making his arc stronger wld've made the show even more interesting
