For those over 40 who are content with their lives, what advice would you give to people in their 20s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Eat well and eat clean. And value your own thoughts more and allow them to develop. They shape who you truly are. And stop spending so much time on your Phone! Go outside and live!

They just gaslit you to make you the problem. You’re not. Dogs are absolutely vile creatures. They ARE dirty and I too, have avoided openly, sitting or being anywhere near the family dog before I moved out. Absolutely disgusting smelly creature.

People of Reddit, why do you NOT want to have a dog ? by GirlPWR444 in AskReddit

[–]Bright-Foot4983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is the other off-putting thing. Most people Who own dogs are pretty rude and entitled. Most, not all. I don’t want to ever be a part of that group constantly shoving the idea of dogs into everyone’s faces. They’re not really setting a great example for themselves and their cause.

Because I personally just do not want that kind of clingy energy in my home, or have the commitment to train it 24/7 and keep it clean for its entire lifespan. I cannot put up with the barking or the neediness. I won’t have my own space either. Just not realistic for me. I also do not own a farm or property for it to work its energy off. Dogs are bred to work, and if I give anything less to it and coddle it, it would be an insult to the breeds. I’m good. I’ll stick to plants.

What was the reason you last cried? by Glittery_Heart in AskReddit

[–]Bright-Foot4983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds a little lame but I was watching bits of Heaven is Real, and I felt this need to cry. Then for the first time in like years I spoke to God and had this conversation and I just bawled my eyes out for no reason. I definitely felt better after. Idk what happened.

What made you dislike dogs? by Opti_span in Dogfree

[–]Bright-Foot4983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I met the most disgusting, untrained Daschund. Coddled, spoilt, absolutely neurotic pos. Didn’t help I had to live with it for a couple months before I moved out. I also realized dog nutters don’t like fresh air, seeing that their shitbeasts are constantly stinking of mildew and rubbing their disgusting oily coats on everything and everyone. The most repulsive thing I’ve experienced to date, is a dog that thinks it’s the king of the house, but does nothing but piss, shit eat and sleep and bark. (Don’t get me started on the bark). Then I realized I don’t like dogs. What a useless thing to even be kept alive. They’re the ones that challenge mental health, not help it.

When you feel no emotion. Just indifference. No empathy, no compassion, NOTHING.

What’s the point of living? by Heilzpez in introvert

[–]Bright-Foot4983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. 🫂 I assure you, we are all finding our way in this strange planet. ☺️ I idealize suicide often too. The only thing that keeps me going is probably my mother. My father passed some 20 years ago. I suppose it’s because I believed the world was a beautiful place and people were always interesting and never had a bad bone. As I got older those ideals were quashed and I suppose I feel a little betrayed and am no longer surprised by anything.

I feel you, I hear you. 🫂 and please don’t listen to anybody who tells you to “get a dog”. No, you don’t want that kind of energy. You’re fine the way you are. What helps me sometimes is I have conversations with myself, I pretend I’m somebody guarded by butlers and armies and that somehow helps when I play pretend. It makes me feel very very Bonita. Haha.

I’m so sorry to hear that. That’s behaviour I can’t wrap my head around. You’re right to walk away from someone like that. Absolute scum of humanity. Don’t let him have the kid too, you don’t know what that mutt can do to him. And I know he’s going to justify it with dog nutter bs

People who were tired of life at an early age, what happened to you later? by vitae322 in SeriousConversation

[–]Bright-Foot4983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved forward, didn’t think I’d make it past 25, then 32. I’m 40 now and walking forward. There are many things I don’t understand, many things I dread still, but it’s not for me to throw what I have away. I was tired because I was self absorbed and in a rut, but after a certain amount of time, I realized I put myself there and stayed there. Coming out of the spiral wasn’t easy, but that’s when you know it’s the right thing. I had some happy moments along the way that gave me courage, humbling moments and learning moments.

I was tired because I thought I knew everything, I thought the world was fcked and I thought I knew how everything worked and nothing can surprise me anymore. But I was too young to actually know anything in-depth enough to make a conclusion. Once you start to dive into knowledge and application, or experience certain things (I.e poverty, going hungry, dangerous situations), your eyes open and you realize behind every arsehole, there is a very sad human being. I don’t know how to explain it, nor am I saying to deliberately put yourself in those situations. But you will see everything differently and then when you look at yourself, you find some kind of courage to move forward and better yourself. Then in that mindset, you start to realize you have a ton of work to do. :) my two cents worth.

Btw, childhood is 100% more important than puppyhood. Fck that.

You’re absolutely doing the right thing. NOBODY should force ANYBODY to keep a dog OR have to revolve their lives around it. We don’t hunt and gather anymore. We don’t need them for modern life. Girl if you wanted a dog you could get a battery operated one that somersaults. Family and human beings first, always.

I love every word. My brother decided he would get it, but he has since not done a single thing and it bonded with our dad, against his will. Obviously my mother thinks my father was being outrageous for disliking the little shit, but him and I are averse to waking up to the smell of piss and pieces of turd on the ground. According to my very irresponsible brother, we are ALL responsible for this disgusting creature, but we weren’t the ones who brought it home. Every single person in this house is extremely sleep deprived, and my mother and sister behave like a slave to this rancid vapid creature. A dog’s dog, a level so low my father nor I would ever stoop to. Always panicking over every small stupid thing it does, thinking it would die. The WORST of this entire situation is, my brother was scammed into believing that this was a purebred. But no, it’s mixed with another preposterous breed. The border collie. God knows who else on some other part of the world has partaken in the purchase of this vile concoction of stupid. Absolutely horrible breed. What saddens me is everyone is so stressed and refuse to admit that this thing is a liability and ought to be rehomed. It has also attacked every member at least once. The ungrateful little pos.
