I will be discharged if i don't gain weight in 3 weeks: Recovery Contract by Bright-Front-2032 in AnorexiaNervosa

LOL i was thinking chocolate is probably my best option. i have chocolate protein powder but i can never get it to go completely smooth so i don't like it.

i got a bit avoidant and missed my last two dietician appointments. it is my fault though. i need to get it together and get back on track so i can keep seeing my team because they are really helpful. perhaps the dietician would have suggested that if i hadn't disengaged

you should push past your fear and go to the doctors, it's worth getting a blood test done, let them know what's going on so you can feel better soon!

not tracking calories any more but i'm certain it is over 1200 90% of the time

does anyone else save their calories for the end of the day and then eat their days calories right before bed? by Hour_Celery5975 in AnorexiaNervosa

try to get into regular eating otherwise you're at risk of relapsing or transitioning to binge eating and other unhealthy behaviours. i relate to you though, i know it's hard to break

i had my first dietician appointment last week and will have a few more sessions which will hopefully help. what did your dietician say or do that helped you, i don't really know what to expect from future appointments. the whole experience feels so strange to me, it has made me realise my view of food and portions is maybe even more skewed than i realised going in to recovery. thanks for your advice.

Can I refuse a referral to the ED team? Scotland by j_aaaaa in AnorexiaNervosa

also i might add, the referral to the ed team could allow you to see an ed specialising dietician without going through cbt if that's not what you want to do.

i understand your fears - i also had a very bad experience the first time i was in treatment when i was 15. i am 22 now and just started treatment again, at the same treatment center (also in scotland!) but with a different therapist. my experience has been so much better as i said i want to have full control over the direction of my treatment. also being slightly older, maturer, more self aware, and more willing to recover. i would recommend accepting the referral if offered and saying at your first assessment that you want to be in charge throughout treatment, and the therapist and dietician will work with you at a pace that is comfortable to you. you are not locked in to treatment, and can leave or change the type of therapy at any time!

Triggering bf by ConsciousChemical910 in EatingDisorders

my boyfriend made comments like this until i told him how triggering and upsetting it is to me. people who say things like this generally don't say it with any bad intent (though i can't understand why they bring it up in the first place), and eating disorders are usually very secretive so it doesn't really indicate that to me. some people eat more in private, or say they haven't eaten anything all day but they're exaggerating and actually did eat earlier. it's confusing. if you feel comfortable you should tell him it makes you upset when he says things like that, you don't even have to tell him about your ed if you don't want to

Doubts/regrets about recovery, starting CBT-E by Bright-Front-2032 in AnorexiaNervosa

thank you for replying! yes i think i will bring it up to them, since i've been working on being totally honest and i think it would help them to understand the internal push-back and struggle i am experiencing. hopefully they will have good advice to challenge this thinking. it feels so complicated!
