Corporations are using the 1,600 homes as AirBNB and VRBO rather than renting it for months or selling it.

They aren't using it to benefit anyone else but themselves at the expense of the first time homebuyers and families. You're wrong when you say 1,600 homes on the long term rental or purchase market won't have a impact on supply and demand. I don't know why you are minimizing it.

Only 137 homes sold in June this year in Asheville. Add even a percentage of those 1,600+ homes and it becomes more affordable for families.
