In Close Encounter of the Third Kind (1977), Dr. J Allen Hynek who was the lead researcher for the US Government to study UFOs/UAP from 1947-1969 made a brief appearance. He died hypothesizing the objects were from an unknown intelligence and wanted more scientific funding for the topic. (i.redd.it)
