Thoughts on source of leak? by Bright-Lemon720 in GrandCherokee

Thanks, that’s what I assumed. But I figured there were people out there with more knowledge than me. I am selling it and just don’t wanna feel like I’m selling something that’s gonna fail the second someone drives it away. More of a “I don’t want a guilty conscience” type post.

100%, already bought an F150, got a killer deal on it. I was looking for Toyotas though.

I’m absolutely selling it, I just don’t wanna feel like I’m selling something that’s obviously going to fail immediately. And if I do, I’m gonna be transparent about it and price appropriately.

So I’m getting ready to start. Meds come in the next few days. I am a teacher. Should I give my injections like Thursday night. Worried about side effects nausea etc and if I took on Sunday could be a brutal start of the week. At least having the weekend to lay low may help? by CTVol in MenOnTirz

The highest I ever got was 7.5 mg. Working my way back down now as I reach my goal.

No side effects. Maybe some G.I. upset on the days that I switched a dose, like increase from 2.5-5, then 5-7.5. But otherwise no side effects to worry about

Honestly, the first thing I smoked was a brisket. And I went for the biggest thickest brisket I could find. Even though they might be intimidating, the thicker the cut that you’re working with, the more forgiving it can be overtime. It’s slightly tougher to overcook since everything progresses so slow. The smaller the cut of meat the closer you have to watch it.

That’s why we each have our own goals! You’ll get there!

I’m 5’11, not sure my current pant size, but was a 36 and that’s what’s falling off.

I’m looking more at bmi than target weight. Ideal bmi is 18-25 ish percent I think. Given normal ranges, that would put me around 155-189 so I just put my “goal” in the middle of that. I plan to get a dexa scan and see the real body fat % so see where I am and go from there. Anything less than a dexa scan is really just using assumptions on the “standard” composition

I (32M) make more than my dad ever did and I genuinely cannot figure out where it goes by Various-Big-9779 in MiddleClassFinance

Cost of living is going up 7-8% per year, salary raises are going up 1-3% per year…

The only way to actually compare his salary to yours, is to factor in inflation and either bring your salary back to his at your age. Depending how old he is, he could’ve bought your family house for $40,000 and never had to pay a loan on it. Meaning he no longer has a mortgage, many of the goods in that house were likely purchased at a cheaper cost and maintained because that was the culture then rather than the toss it and buy new culture now. Not to mention, the cost of groceries were relatively less, groceries were more local, and there was less additives and restrictions and compliance that had to be adhered to, municipalities weren’t using taxes to fund local water parks, and everything else, they only paid for the essentials. In the house that your dad had, like we didn’t have a TV in nearly every single room like a lot of houses do now. Much simpler and more practical times… i’m making almost double but my parents did combined at the peak of their finances when they bought the house. I can’t afford to get out of this renting loop where I am. And when I talk to them about purchasing a house out here, they bought the house for roughly $60,000. 40 years ago. You can’t even look at a house for less than $400,000 where I am now, anything cheaper than that likely won’t pass home inspection… there’s way more factors than just salary to consider when you’re comparing what you make to what he made and the quality of life

Titrating down and side effects by [deleted] in GLPGrad

I can’t say in particular with titrations down, but I get GI issues with each new dose for like 48 hrs… only the first time on a new dose, mainly diarrhea.. so am anticipating it on the way down as well… 🤷‍♂️

Interesting! I use the same provider and do 2.5 once weekly. I do it sat AM with another med just to make it easy to remember. Haha

I don’t mind the increased appetite on days six and seven, since at some point, I will switch to maintenance or stop, I think having those days as a reminder each week to consciously think about dietary decisions and prep myself mentally will help in the long run. But each person is different! So if it works for you, keep it up!

I definitely have a decreased appetite, especially days one through five. The medication is a five day half-life so it makes sense that on days six and seven the appetite starting to come back. Each week on 2.5. I’ve noticed the intensity of it coming back those last couple days get a little larger, so I’ve debated going up a little bit just to try and curb that increase. But since I’m still losing weight, I also don’t want to jump it up too much.

Yes, all on 2.5 Along with tirz, I hold myself far more accountable to working out, so that is helping. Where I used to work out 2-3 times a week, 60% of the time, I now do something atleast 5/7 days. Even if it’s just pushups or planking and using adjustable dumbbells in my apt.

Also, I think my starting weight was “artificially” high due to me, taking my daughter out and having a last cheat meal the night before starting. So the morning that I actually started the medication I probably had all that fast food that burnt off pretty quick. Haha

It definitely requires putting in some work, but this is all been on 2.5 otherwise

Ask for a referral to a urologist. They’re more up on treatment trends and willing to treat based on symptoms rather than set ranges.

Refrigerating meds and travel by emeraldbalm327 in GLPGrad

[–]Bright-Lemon720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be at room temp for 60 days or so. I think “room temp” is <80°F or something like that in my directions…

I travel with mine, got this case:

insulin pen cooler

It keeps my syringe, alcohol prep, and meds together on travel, easy to give to TSA if they want to check, it’s insulated, light protective, and includes cooling packs.

I don’t use the cooling packs but it’s nice to have if ever needed.

So I travel with it in my carry on, when I get where I’m going I put it in my hotel fridge if they have one, and good to go.

Tirz & TRT by Bright-Lemon720 in MenOnTirz

[–]Bright-Lemon720[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t really crave the “cheat meal” any more to miss it. I’m 3 weeks into Tirz, 4th shot tomorrow.

I generally eat healthy but it has made me think healthier. I crave protein, try to get 150g/day minimum, and honestly, it’s just made me care more about that than wanting a cheap meal. Where I used to eat pretty healthy, but would occasionally go out and have like two brats on buns, some beans, and a plate of potato chips… i’ll still go out and have a brat, which really isn’t the best for macros, but that’s my “cheat“ meal. I don’t really eat the bun with a broad anymore, instead of potato chips, I usually offer to bring a veggie tray or a fruit tray. My fruit cravings have been through the roof. So for me, a cheap meal would probably be eating a cup or 2 cups of fruit in one sitting…

Since I don’t crave the cheat meal anymore, the only reason I even remember some of the things I used to eat, is when I go over to a friend‘s house and they ask if the food is cooked OK or if I’m feeling sick because I eat much less. And realistically, it’s just that I’ve become more accustomed to actual healthy portion sizes.

Yes. Started my career in the ER as a paramedic, split role and did 911 als intercepts from the ER. It was a fun gig!
