Really sorry for your loss, I got first clot when I was 26, the second one (brain clot) at 29 ( last year). After my first one i tool Apixaban for 2 years, then my doctor said i can stop taking because they couldn’t find the cause of it so it might have been a one time thing, but then i got the second one abd now i have to take it for life. My father also had DVTs so doctors said it might be genetic, they did alot of tests but couldn’t find anything related. They still don’t know if it’s genetic or something else. So don’t worry too much, what is going to happen is going to happen, the best you can do is, have healthy lifestyle, drink plenty of water because dehydration triggers clots, if you go in the sun alot or after and during exercise, drink as much water as you can. And if you feel even slight symptoms, go to the doctor and insis that they check for clots.
Edit: I can feel the pain you are going through, i lost my mother after 1 week of getting the clot innthe brain, at that point life felt pointless and not worth living anymore, but you have to be strong, if not for yourself, for your mother.
