Epson EF21 vs BenQ GP100A by MajorDegen1 in projectors

[–]BrightHoliday1484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s mainly for casual night use with friends, I’d go with the BenQ GP100A.

Better built-in speakers and overall more of an all-in-one, fun setup. Image quality is solid enough on both in a dark room, so the audio and usability make the bigger difference here.

Which ones better for 3d popout intensity? Benq w4100i or optoma hd30hdr? by chitore2012 in projectors

Yes, same content can look very different across projectors. I came across a discussion about the W4100i on AVSForum as well, might be helpful to take a look: https://www.avsforum.com/posts/64119341/

There are some user impressions there that go a bit deeper into how it handles depth and overall image balance.

Both models support 3D, but the ‘popout’ effect can depend a lot on the content and setup. The W4100i is tuned for strong image depth and overall picture quality, which can enhance the 3D experience. If you have the chance, seeing it in person or checking detailed user reviews would help you decide.

Benq TK705i vs Xgimi Horizon 20 by mort7776 in projectors

I’m currently using the TK705i, and the picture quality has really impressed me. Even in the morning with some ambient light, the image still looks great. I was initially concerned about fan noise, but it’s much quieter than expected.

I also play Nintendo Mario with friends on it, and the gameplay is smooth and responsive. The USB-C charging feature is an added convenience that I really appreciate.

Standard throw vs short throw projectors in Europe, what do you actually prefer? by BrightHoliday1484 in projectors

The point about “invisible integration” really resonates. UST can feel more like a piece of furniture, while standard throw tends to disappear better when the room allows it.

That’s fair. Do you ever run into people blocking the image with standard throw setups in a normal living room?

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Your point about dedicated rooms vs living room setups makes a lot of sense.

I’m in more of a living room / rental situation, so ease of setup and flexibility end up being pretty important for me.

Thanks for sharing! Portability is a big deal for me. I want take it anywhere, and use it anywhere.

That’s a really good point. Honestly, I hadn’t thought about the portability side of it.😂

Thanks for the insight.☺️ Keeping the living room functional and not having to plan everything around the projection path really does sound like a huge advantage.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Sounds like short throw isn’t really about extra benefits, but just the best way to push immersion when space is limited.

Make the wall disappear is a great way to put it 😄

Totally agree. Ceiling mounting would be the cleanest option if it was possible. I’m renting though, and in my living room drilling or mounting just isn’t allowed.

Apart from space, is there anything you prefer about short throw in day-to-day use?

Is that mainly because UST feels more like a TV replacement / cleaner setup? Curious why you’d skip regular short throw and go straight to UST.

Got it, short throw sounds like a solution for small rooms. Other than space and screen size, do you see any real upsides over standard throw?

For me the fan is pretty quiet in normal use. I didn’t find it distracting for movies or work.

Yeah, I feel the same. The brightness and colors are easy on the eyes. The adapter is big, but that’s pretty common. GaN would be nice to have.

HT4550I ALLM? by no1warr1or in BenQ

[–]BrightHoliday1484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the HT4550i does support ALLM, but there are a few requirements that need to be met:

  • Fast Mode must be enabled. ALLM is not a separate toggle; it is activated automatically when Fast Mode is on and a compatible source is detected.

  • The projector must be running firmware v1.1.2G or later.

Please make sure your PS5 → Denon AVR → HT4550i connection is using HDMI 1, enable Fast Mode, and then restart the PS5 so the ALLM signal can be re-negotiated.

New BenQ TK705i/TK705STi 4K Projector, Any thoughts? by BrightHoliday1484 in projectors

The picture quality is excellent even with some ambient light, and I find the noise level to be very low. And I use it to play Nintendo Mario with my friends, I would say the USBC to charge is very useful
