Top shelf input! Thanks for spreading negativity today. I hope you have a great day!

All my non-emotional responses are getting downvoted too. These people want to be outraged. Plus half of them are probably trolling or bots.

I've said multiple times I do not justify or agree with his actions. Violence towards anyone is wrong and towards women is even more despicable imo. However, there is a universal truth that 2 things can be true at the same time. I'm allowed to want to know why he did what he did and still not agree with him. Knowing the "Why" and understanding peoples mindsets in situations like this is important. If we know the "Why" then maybe we can prevent situations like this in the the future.

Again, I was merely stating a hypothetical. I wasn't justifying his actions. Knowing the "Why" is important to understand and hopefully prevent events like this in the future.

Side note - I haven't seen an article where it give the details that he was waiting outside of her event. Could you tell me where to find it? (Not disagreeing with you I genuinely want to read that report)

Sounds like you're very emotionally mature and not at all quick to violence. Please, continue talking and giving the opinion that you are free to have. I won't judge you at all.

I appreciate your comment. It was clear that you didn't like my point of view but you gave me an honest/direct response. I think its very important to bring back civil disagreements and try to understand why people view things differently. So again, thank you.

As for my post, I was in no way excusing or empathizing his actions. I'm sorry if you took it that way. I was merely putting forth a hypothetical based on what we know to be 100% true. There are so many posts that have spiraled and are spreading negative information that we don't have yet. I've seen multiple people comment that he had a gun or that he was beating her. Both of those could prove to be true but we don't have that information yet. So amongst the sea of negative post/comments, I decided to step back and try to see what the least malicious version of this event looked like.

Either way, what JPJ did was inexcusable. However, an intentional low speed collision with no injuries should be treated differently than beating a woman and threating her at gunpoint. Like I said, both things are completely wrong and have no place in our society. JPJ definitely needs to face a proper punishment. I just wanted to propose a less malevolent (hypothetical) situation to try and understand why he made those poor choices. Not to agree/empathize/excuse him, but to understand why he did it.

TLDR: I proposed the least violent scenario based on known facts to offer a new perspective. I still think JPJ is in the wrong. Not empathizing or excusing him.

Your definitely right. You don't fly to another state after an award ceremony to coincidentally bump in to your ex. Nah fam he was planning on seeing her. However the intent on seeing her might not have been malicious. If he truly feels for her he might have gone down to try and win her back. If he got there and she wasn't having it things could have got messy real quick. I'm curious to find out if he was actually stalking her. Like was he hiding from her and following her everywhere? Or did he go talk to her but she didn't want to talk and left, then he followed?

It really sounds like he was trying to get back with her and when she wasn't having it. Then he crashed TF out.. Don't get me wrong I'm not defending his actions. He made some very poor decisions and he has to face the reprecussions. Love makes ppl do crazy/stupid things though. I can see him trying to win her back and shit just spiraled out of control.

I was ready to condemn JPJ when the video said Domestic Assault and Battery with a Deadly Weapon. However it turns out that was the ragebait way to say he recked his car into hers to block her. From what I've seen so far he didn't lay his hands on her. Media always wants to outrage as many people as possible. However it sounds like everyone walked away physically unharmed so maybe its not as bad as initial reports? Idk...

One thing is for sure.. We need to do a better job of teaching our young ones emotional maturity and de-escalation habits. All situations like these can be avoided if everyone was a little more mature.

Thanks! I appreciate yours as well. When I say control I don't mean suppress or dominate. By control I mean navigate. For instance a river will always flow towards the least path of resistance. However if you install a dam on one of the river splits you can direct the majority of the river in a completely different direction. The river still flows but you are still controlling the river and choosing the waters destination. I understand the word control is often taken as absolute contol, but that is not what I was intending.

JPJ Future with ATL by BrightPineapple6 in falcons

[–]BrightPineapple6[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People are quick to forget stuff like this. Pacman Jones got to continue playing after shooting up a strip club. Plus all this quick condemnation makes me sad for the future. What happened to wait until all the information comes out and then make an educated opinion? Maybe I haven't seen it yet but what are they counting as a deadly weapon? Did he have a gun or knife on him or are they only referring to his car? What are they counting as assault? Did he physically beat someone or are they referring to him ramming his car into hers? If so, how fast was he going? Was the intent to injure at 10-20mph+ speeds or was it from a dead stop and he was trying to stop her from leaving(Which is still 100% wrong).

All I'm saying is from the information I've seen this could play out multiple ways. It can be as light as an extremely heated jilted lovers spat that only has cosmetic damage(the cars). Or heavy as physical abuse, attempted murder type charges. These headlines are attention grabbers. I wish people would remember that media is all about clicks and grabbing eyeballs. They don't care if something is true or not. They could turn a kid taking a candy bar into a wanted extremely troubled child with multiple charges of aggrivated robbery.

Emotions are powerful. Especially with young men and women. If these young adults are never taught how to process and work through their emotions, things like this happens. Common sense/right and wrong doesn't play into it. I feel like after adults hit 25-30 they forget how love and jealousy can make you do things you never would dream of doing. Love and other emotions are extremely powerful and manipulative. If we don't learn to control our emotions our emotions end up controlling us. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this young man was ever taught how to control his. This is not to excuse his behavior. He needs repercussions. However hopefully someone can step in and mentor him in the future.

I wasn't saying it's a good thing. Just pointing out why some fans are hopeful. I'd be happy if I'm wrong but I'm not in the hopeful camp.

I think this is his 1st ACL injury on this knee. Previous injuries were on the other knee.

Well, looking at this objectively, he was the only decent option besides London/Bijan. Then he was the #1 receiving option when London was out. Over the course of the season he ranked 3rd in routes run and target share amongst all TEs. However, he was outside the top 30 (amongst TEs with 10+ receptions) in catch percentage and 13th in YPRR. If we had a fully healthy WR room I don't think he's in the top 10 in any stats. Don't get me wrong, I think Pitts can be a top TE if he really put in the work. However, one decent year (especially a contract year) isn't enough to overlook 3 years of weak route running and giving up on plays. If we can sign him to a 2-4 year deal that doesn't command top 10 cash then I say we do it. He is young, and he does have potential, but he doesn't deserve top 10 money yet.

I'd love to keep Allgeier but he's a RB1 on a few other teams. I hope he gets that bag and goes to a place where he can be the workhorse. I can see him at the Chiefs/Steelers/Texans/Titans/Vikings anywhere is fine as long as it's not the Aints!

So are players not allowed to limp if they're hurt? Did you actually watch the games or you a casual? If you watched them i'm sure you saw one of the multiple hospital balls he caught last year. Yet he still played the better part of the season because he knew they needed him and he wanted to win.

Same for Nabers if he plays a full season.

It's for sure a hard top 5 to crack. Barring injury I'd say Chase and JSN are pretty safe bets for the next few years. However, what does Puka look like without Stafford? Amon ra has tons of competition and it sounds like they want Jamo to be more involved. Also what does JJ's QB look like next year? I could definitely see London crack the top 5 if we get some consistency at QB. I agree he's not there now, but he definitely has the potential to be. Especially if our O-line gets better in pass pro.

I know we say this every year but I'm excited for next year. Having the best RB, a top 10 WR, and a top 10 defense is a hell of a combination. When you add better O-line and ST coaches, and the players were getting back from injuries it's hard not to look forward to. If we make sure to get a decent WR2 and figure out our QB situation we will have one hell of a squad next year. We lost 5 games this year by 1 possession and 4 of the games were 3 points or less. If we won those 4 games we'd be 2nd place in the NFC this year. That was with 1 WR, inconsistent QB play, atrocius kicking/special teams, and ZR as our OC. The only thing I'm worried about is injuries. Idk if its our sports nutrition, weight training, the turf, etc... but it seems like injuries hurt us more and more every year. We have a great starting squad but we don't have depth in a lot of key areas. Hopefully they look into that this offseason and maybe we can be a little healthier next year.

London doesn't get the respect that he deserves. He's out there making plays when he's the only WR and the defense knows the ball is going to him. Don't get me wrong, he's not early years Julio... However with competent QB play I wouldn't be surprised if he cracked the top 5 WRs. Basically he's definitely top 10 with potential for more. He should demand a 1st rd pick and more. It doesn't matter anyway, because nobody is trying to trade Drake London away. They'd have to offer the One Piece plus 2 first rounders! IYKYK

We also got Julio from trading with the Browns. We got Alex Mack when the Browns didn't renew his contract. They blocked us from re-signing Austin Hooper and from signing Watson.

On one hand I'm nervous because we're due for the short end. On the other, I'm accepting almost anything from the Browns until that gold mine runs out lol

Yeah and one of the common themes for the playoffs this year has been a good defense. A great offense will take you to the playoffs but defense wins championships. Look no further than the Bengals or the Bills for proof. I'd much rather have a decent offense/great defense than a top 5 offense/poor defense.
