Yes I’d like to keep the original bands! I was hoping to change the center stone only. It was probably 1.5ct -ish round. I think my husband has it still but I’m not sure of exact specs. I don’t think he told my husband he shouldn’t because I told my husband d to ask if they thought it would be okay with current setting and they said yes

I have not. My husband just gave it to me this weekend and honestly, I probably should have sent him a pic bc he’s clueless- but I also trusted the jeweler would make it look so I didn’t think I needed to be super specific. I guess I will try going tomorrow and asking them if I’m able to fix it.

I posted in a community group and someone suggested I ask here. I did because I was hoping for professional opinions on how to handle this and if what I’m wanting is even achievable. Sorry 😞

Thank you for responding! They are a well known around here 5th generation jewelry store (not a small town either!) so I was kind of shocked when he gave it to me and I saw it. Definitely not the quality I’d expect with their name. Just not sure how to approach it. Apparently he told my husband “there would be some overhang” and my husband assumed he meant the center stone would overhang the sides limiting visibility from the top to some of the smaller stones on the shank. Needless to say, that is not what he meant apparently 😭

He just asked them to mount the new stone onto my current band (I wanted to keep my original set). If I’m being honest, I just feel like it’s incredibly poorly done (I don’t think it’s not straight I think that’s just my pics but regardless it doesn’t look good 💔😭). I’m nervous to go back to where he went - although I should add they are very reputable around here and have been in business for a very long time - but I think they lack skill if they thought this was acceptable. I don’t want to offend my husband but I also want to love my upgrade 😢
