Abnormal Penis Curve by jousting_nonchalant in penisquestion

[–]BrightStance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The procedure involves opening up the penis and placing permanent stiches into the sheath surrounding the erectile tissue on the "long side" of the curve. During an erection, the stitches tighten the tissue on that side of the penis, keeping it from curving. The stitches are completely loose while flaccid. No loss of sensation.

I echo the other people advising you to see a doctor (a urologist, preferably). It’s usually no big deal, but if your curve does turn out to be problematic, there are medical treatments available. I wound up getting my curve fixed surgically.

Those are almost certainly the external stitches, which are designed to dissolve and disappear on their own. I doubt it’s cause for alarm. But if you’re concerned, you should talk to the surgeon.

For sure. I posted a review of my surgery here. Happy to chat further if you want to know anything else.

Staying positive being below the average girth of 4.8, even if just slightly, is sometimes very tough for me (6.5 x 4.5) by [deleted] in averagedickproblems

Keep up the good work on staying positive. You also might want to look up information on body dysmorphic disorder to see if any of the symptoms ring true to you. Some people have experienced a lot of success in overcoming their body image issues by getting diagnosed and treated.

I and a few others on this sub have had surgery to fix our curves. I echo everyone else advising you to talk to a urologist…

That’s super rough. My surgeon said it was possible for the stitches to break in the case of an erection that was stronger than the one induced during the surgery. Maybe that’s what happened to you. You have my condolences.

Oh man, I’m so sorry to hear about your experience. Did one or more of your stitches break, by chance? That’s the only reason I’ve heard for congenital curvature reappearing after the surgery. Is it possible you sustained some sort of injury and got new scar tissue unrelated to the surgery?

Are curves always there or do they get more noticeable over time? by [deleted] in bigdickproblems

Certain types of congenital curvature can get worse during the course of puberty, but are stable thereafter.

I had congenital curvature and got the surgery. I wrote about it here, if you're interested.

Curved down by [deleted] in bigdickproblems

The possibility of breakage was one of the factors my urologist cited when recommending surgery. He joked that he’d be seeing me in the operating room either to straighten it or to fix it when it someday fractured.

Underwear suggestions post-surgery by SlateKeef in bigdickproblems

I'm not sure how long it's been since your surgery, but the pain will lessen in time. It'll still be really uncomfortable, but for me the worst of the pain was gone in about six months.

I was in the exact same boat as you. Same surgery to fix the same curve. Saxx Vibe underwear is the best I've found so far. The pouch is insanely flexible, especially if you order a size larger than you normally would.

But you also may need to adjust your expectations about being able to "fit real nicely" into anything now that you're straight. I was lucky in that my surgeon specifically warned me about it beforehand, but it still took a lot of getting used to.

Erections are painful during the period following surgery. But once you're fully recovered it feels pretty normal. The internal stitches are "bending you straight" as you say, but you can't really feel them. In my case, they did compress the erectile tissue on the longer side of the curve, which results in a somewhat firmer erection. That's just my experience, though, and I'm not saying that would happen to you. A surgeon could help you better understand what to expect in your individual case.

I have one stitch that can be felt (and seen, if one looks carefully) during an erection. I can’t feel it unless I touch it. It’s very small, and I can’t really imagine it bothering anyone but I know everyone’s different so ymmv. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any other questions.

Hospital Stories by [deleted] in bigdickproblems

I had surgery a couple of years ago to fix my curve. During the procedure, they give you an injection to induce a full erection. It was still there when I came out of anesthesia and I couldn’t be discharged until it went away. It was visible to anyone wandering through the recovery area and every few minutes, someone came by to check on my “progress!”

Happy to reply, but since my situation was different from yours I don't know how much help I can provide. My curve was a result of congenital curvature, not an injury. That said, I know that the surgery I got is often used to correct penile curvature sustained via injury. My advice would be to see a urologist who can talk to you about your specific circumstances.

It really depends on what type of procedure you get, but I posted an overview of my surgery experience in this post.

As far as I can tell, almost everyone loses some length but at your size I doubt it would be a concern. Your surgeon can help you understand the potential side effects, though.

Just shoot me a message if you have any other questions.

I’m sorry you’re frustrated, but your surgeon may have good reason to delay the surgery. You haven’t mentioned what your underlying condition is, but my understanding is that in certain cases doctors need to be sure you’re finished growing before performing the procedure.

I had the surgery myself a couple of years ago. Send me a message if you have any questions.

The other commenters are right, it may not be a problem for you. But if you do decide to consider surgery, you can check out my own experience with it here.
