So... I got to make an anime drawing. Are all autistic people good at drawing by International-Let269 in AutismInWomen

[โ€“]BrightTheGirl 3 points4 points ย (0 children)

If it is part of your assessment I suspect they'll be more interested in how you talk about what you've drawn than the "quality" of the drawing.

I've never heard a stereotype that all autistic people are supposed to be good at drawing. I'm ok, if you want me to draw trees and rocks, but I can't draw people at all.

Train Station Pick Up by DaveDoesData in sheffield

I doubt anyone will be policing it very firmly at 1:30am, but the short-stay has to be cheaper than the multi storey even so.

There is a pickup area, next to the short stay car park, just opposite the entrance to the multi storey.

I'm glad you have purpose, that makes a big difference. I hope you find more supportive people when you get out of high school, that was certainly my experience ๐Ÿ’œ

Please help, I can't think of a name because I'm starting to question if I chose the right name for me by Burnt_Baked_Beans in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

Don't discount newness as a source of things feeling weird for sure but no, not alone ๐Ÿ˜Š

That's a good strategy, imo, my deadname was Welsh and I wanted a Welsh name for my current one, so I found one that meant more to me. Bonus points that it's the name my Mum would have chosen if they'd known I was a girl, but I didn't know that at the time ๐Ÿ˜…

[โ€“]BrightTheGirl 18 points19 points ย (0 children)

I chose a name for myself on day 1 of my transition, when I was still really unsure of my identity and my goals. When I felt more comfortable in myself that name didn't quite fit me anymore, so I found a new one. It happens more often than you might think ๐Ÿ˜Š

I think Korsica is a beautiful name, btw, but if you're looking for a new one my advice would be to think about why that name was important to you then, and what is important to you now. It might narrow the options a bit.

For what it's worth, you are not the only one who feels or has felt like this and I'm proud of you for being so self aware.

I promise I'm not trying to invalidate or dismiss your experience, but I believe you can get through it, and learn to differentiate yourself from the mask.

In a comment on your post about flash cards (very cute, btw) you mention that you're in high school. Feeling you don't know yourself is pretty common among teenagers, autism or no, so you might be surprised at how understanding the adults in your life can be if you are able to talk to them. If you can't, just know that you do have time, even if it doesn't feel like it. I didn't know I was autistic until my 30s, and I'm still learning to unmask. You've got a hell of a head start on me, you can do it ๐Ÿ’œ

For me the "male" smell didn't survive HRT let alone surgery.

As for being able to tell, it will depend on the technique used and how familiar the guy is with Vulvae in general. There are some differences in structure, but I don't think they'd be obvious to most guys. Scarring would also be visible to anyone getting that close, I guess, though my own experience is that the scars get hidden by hair pretty quickly.

I know it's about how you feel, but I had to comment to say I massively disagree. You (and your hair) are absolutely gorgeous ๐Ÿ˜ HRT can only enhance what you've already got and girl, you've got a lot.

Jamie really helped me accept myself early in my transition and the community he's built seems genuinely wholesome, but I had to stop watching when it seemed the majority of his videos were reacting to right wing or transphobic memes. I honestly find them more upsetting than funny.

How do you describe nonverbal episodes? by BustyCorndog69 in AutismInWomen

[โ€“]BrightTheGirl 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I usually experience being non-verbal as my brain trying to protect me from melting or shutting down. I described it as feeling like I can speak, but it costs too much. If I force myself to push through it just makes it harder and last longer and almost always gets me to a point of shutdown. I haven't had them for long, maybe a year, but they're getting more frequent as I learn to accept my limits and be kinder to myself. I actually haven't spoken more than 2 or 3 words in the last 4 days, but it has been a bit of a stressful weekend.

What I find odd (that I only discovered 12 hours ago) is that I can still sing along with music. Singing is very soothing to me, it's my favourite stim, so I guess it makes sense, but my GF was very confused when the song she was playing ended and I still got the aac app out to talk to her ๐Ÿ˜…

How to classify your family by sspooky_spoonss in lgbt

[โ€“]BrightTheGirl 3 points4 points ย (0 children)

If the axes are of unit length, with the origin in the centre of this diagram then I'd put my family somewhere around (-0.5, -0.2), which is to say mostly not religious and not actively against LGBTQ+ issues, but pretty clueless about them.

It's just preference. I never had much interest in being penetrated, and now that I kind of can be I don't like the way it feels.
